I have seen the job ads of a certain ministry (not going to specify which one) remove certain wordings specifying a preference for honours graduates. It happened shortly after the National Day Rally speech this year.
Whether that translates to a meaningful shift in policies for hiring and pay scale, remains to be seen.

You know that paper qualifications matter less when employers don't care if you graduated from NUS or some university in Manila or Chennai. So what if you are from RI or Chinese High? Employers care even less about those so-called elite schools. They only care if you can do the job for a cheaper price.
