SINGAPORE - Several people have lodged complaints to the police after having received phone calls made from '999' from Oct 21 to Oct 27.

There have been six reported cases so far.

The callers claimed to be government representatives from the Singapore Police Force (SPF), Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) or Ministry of Manpower (MOM). They would make requests for money transfers or credit card details during these phone calls.

The public is advised to exercise extra caution and vigilance if such pranks calls were to be received.

Such phone calls with '999' displayed as the caller should be ignored and reported to the police immediately.

Any information in regard to this crime may be brought forward to the police by calling 1800-255-000 or 999 for urgent assistance or submitted online at www.police.gov.sg/Crimestopper.
