This is scare-mongering, alarmist and without basis. This post creates unnecessary concern both in the minds of the public and in the civil service.

Contrary to the picture painted in the mainstream media, opposition politicians are rational people. Few of them would be so irrational as to dismantle the apparatus of administration, thereby sabotaging their own efforts at running the country.

Change of government may be unfamiliar to Singaporeans but is routine in other democracies. The civil service, which is the backbone of the government continues unchanged through changes of government and ensures that the administration continues to function smoothly.

Yes, with a change of government, policies will and, indeed, would be expected to change (which is why an opposition is voted in, in the first place). The civil service will be expected to implement the new policies (as they do in other democracies where governments change). Individual members of the civil service will, of course, be judged by how well they carry out the new policies. So long as they discharge their duties faithfully, in accordance with the wishes of parliament, they should have nothing to fear.

The writer's hypothesis is fanciful.
