It was a dumb idea to extend the length of schooling. When you added NS & the unofficial retirement age, you are really shortening the work life of Sporeans.
In Canada you can enter the Uni with O levels. I knew someone who used his O levels to enter a Canadian university. He returned to do his NS after getting 2 majors, a Bcom & BA. He had plans to do an MBA in Harvard after his NS.
