SINGAPORE: Four women aged between 22 and 31 years old have been arrested for break-ins along Dempsey Road and Tras Street.

Authorities said they were alerted to cases of restaurants and offices being broken into this month. "In some cases, CCTV within the premises captures images of the culprits", police said in a news release on Friday (Oct 24).

The burgled restaurants were not named. However, chairman of The Prive Group, Yuan Oeij, posted CCTV images of female burglary suspects on Facebook on Tuesday, saying their bar-cum-restaurant at Dempsey, The Green Door, was broken into, over the weekend. He also made an appeal for help in identifying the culprits.

Two of the suspects were arrested along Queensway on Thursday, and the others were rounded up later that same day.

All four will be charged for housebreaking and theft on Saturday. They could face up to 14 years' jail.
