The Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) explained that they have concluded their investigations into the death of the 174 sheep which were coming to Singapore from Australia for Korban.

They explained that the sheep died of heat stress due to a faulty air-conditioning unit on the SIA cargo plane used to transport them.

The sheep were among a shipment of over 2,200 sheep from Perth, Australia which were going to be used for Korban.

Despite the record number of deaths, there was still enough sheep for Korban here and the ritual went smoothly otherwise.

MUIS explained in a statement that "A few hours into the flight, one of the three air-conditioning packs on the aircraft produced a slightly lower rate of airflow to the cargo compartment on an intermittent basis. This lower airflow rate affected a small section of the aircraft and may have caused a disruption of temperature in that section of the aircraft,"

MUIS also noted that SIA was not negligent as the plane had departed Perth in a fully serviceable condition.

SINGAPORE — The 174 sheep, meant for a korban ritual earlier this month, could have died of heat stress due to a slightly lower rate of airflow to the cargo compartment of the aircraft during the flight from Perth, the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS) said today (Oct 21).

“Investigations by the Agri Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore showed that the death of the sheep was due to heat stress. There was no indication of infectious disease,” it added.

The dead animals were among 2,200 Australian sheep that were flown *to Singapore *on board a Singapore Airlines Cargo plane on Oct 2.*

MUIS said investigations by SIA Cargo showed that the aircraft had departed Perth in fully serviceable condition.

What a stupid reason faulty aircon. SIA want u to believe such news.
There are at least 3 unit. Cannot be all 3 unit fail.
One unit a main 2nd unit as back up and 3rd is for emergency if the 1st 2 fail.
That called fail safe system.

Maybe SIA has some ex-SMRT personnel

Trying to save $ by cutting down air on costs.

Should request for newest PAP Candidate, Louis Ng, to fight this battle since he loves animals so much. Can also do his bit for the minorities

hvac is not just for cooler air but providing ventilation and maintaining temperature, including heating if necessary.
