The lawyer representing Han Hui Hui has issued a letter to the Singapore Police to demand the return of a note book which the authorities had seized from his client.

Ms Han had taken notes during the interview with her note book, but it was seized by the police officer who interviewed her.

The letter by M Ravi said that Ms Han had made a written record of the questions and her answers put to her in an interview with Senior Investigation Officer, Inspector Wong Yu Wei, on 10 October 2014 at the Central Police Division.

“This personal record was prepared so that she would have accurate details of the matters in question for her legal advisers, and as such it constituted a privileged legal communication,” Mr Ravi said in his letter.

“It is a matter of the gravest concern that it appears this personal record was seized from her at the interview and had not been returned to her,” he added.

Mr Ravi’s letter also requested “an explanation for the wrongful seizure of private property from our client.”

It demanded that the note book be returned to Ms Han by 4pm on Wednesday, 15 October.

Ms Han was called in to assist the police in its investigation into “an offence of unlawful assembly” at Hong Lim Park on 27 September.

She was later reported to have been at the police interview for more than seven hours, and emerged from the police station at about 10pm.

To date, The Online Citizen understands that more than...

Re: Han Hui Hui's Lawyer Writes To Poilice Demanding They Return Her Notebook

Too late, their computer forensic poodle dogs have probably siphoned all the data, hoping to retain some incriminating evidence and use it against her in future.

When the law enforcement thugs knock on your door, hide, move away or destroy the storage devices which may contain sensitive data.

They can confiscate the computer, but that'll be without the hard disks.

Why didn't she go with her lawyer? She and the others know the police is investigating some unlawful assembly so she should be prepared with legal counsel and not get herself into such a situation. The question is which lawyer is willing to go with her in the first place.

Also, there is no reason to confiscate her laptop and notebook. All statements must get a copy. Normally, the interviewer will give excuses not to give you a copy, but you must have a copy. There is no two way about it. Every statement you sign for, you must have a set. Sorry, this is so very important.....but getting legal counsel to accompany you is just as important, because in any case, if you're charged, you will still need legal counsel, so get them involved in the very first instance.

But some lawyers or should I say most lawyers are also just as intimidated as you and when they're told they can't join the interview, they end up sitting outside waiting. But no, a lawyer must accompany you, because you don't know the law or the process. Only lawyers do and it is your right.
