To the PAP, the words of its patriarch are biblical truth.

For this reason, it is re-releasing its founder’s monologue called “The
Battle for a Merger” and claiming this as the unvarnished truth to combat what
it calls “revisionist attempts” to reinterpret the events surrounding the
merger.

In philosophical terms, one would call this a circular attempt to win an
argument. It gives rise to the question of why we should choose to trust LKY
over the accounts of many other of his critics.

Nevertheless, we are interested to know if the monologue will shed some light
on the mystery of LKY’s tears when he announced the split, since Tengku Abdul
Rahman had said that LKY was actually quite pleased about it.

wasnt it quoted somewhere before by british journalists present before the breakup that the dictator insisted no one is to show him smiling before a camera? now we left wondering why he cried must foto but smiling cannot foto?

The fact is Old Fart engineered the breakup. When he realized that he could not be the leader of the bigger country, he decided to settle for sinkapore. Better something than nothing. Thus, he stirred issues up to the point that forced TAR to acquiesce to LKY's demands.

More recently, The Online Citizen reported that Mr Lee had warned the press not to print pictures of him smilingwhen he made the announcement of the separation.

That's an odd threat. Why would Mr Lee be afraid of being photographed smiling if he was sorrowful?

maybe the tears were real, because he would never become the PM of Malaysia......

because he wants to show the world even tyrants and iron fist genocidal dictators can be human too,millions can suffer and thousands can die but deep down beneath that sociopathic inhuman mask ,some part of him still can cry.

In fact, the 2 economy czar for Singapore at that time was in fact happy that Malaysia got seperated from Singapore.
They have great plan for Singapore. They wanted to turn Singapore into a manufacturing hub, together with our thriving port.

So this Tengku Abdul Rahman words are infact belivable.

Old Fart Lee utimate objective is not really about the welfare of Singaporeans.

Now, with a new generation of leaders, the radar is not about the people. It is about themselves. If the people know what really happened in the government, they will see the similarities with North Korea.

Lky cried on numerous occasions, during the split, during a tribute to Othman wok , during the funeral of GOH Keng swee..but it amusing he didn't shed a single drop of tear or at least cried like what he did on other occasions when someone closest to him - gecko passed away and it probably the only time lky showed his true self.

I will definitely shed tears when LKY pass away. For old time sake!!

Obviously they were wrong & now many have to wait for their once in 50 years extra holidays :(

LKY cried because he was upset that all his efforts to become PM of that country were wasted but he did not realise then that it is blessing in disguise for sinkie land to leave the federation.

Had he become the PM of Malaysia, he might have made Malaysia more powerful economically and in the process, it would just pave the way for the Melayu extremists to get rid of LKY (assassination?) and the same time to makan sinkie land.

If that had happened, sinkie land would not be standing today, an independent nation and richer than Malaysia, and an eyesore to the Melayu extremists.
