Singapore do not have student protestors. Students in Singapore are not able to think or stand for themselves with all the massive brain washing placed on us. Silent to follow whatever that is put forward to them and accept meekly. Student protestors however would be found in Hong Kong.

Brave HK Youth

REAL PROTESTERS

Sept 29th when there is a lull in the afternoon, the students are manning the barriers and having their lunch. They are like any students seen in any country. Young with hopes and energy on their faces. They know they have a future in front of them and they want to grow and experience it.

WHY HK YOUTH WANT TO PROTEST ?

A simple quick chat with these young HK youth why they want to do this protest. Their response was simple, they want HK people to choose their leaders through a vote. These youth love HK and this is where they are born, lived, educated. Their family and friends are here and this is where they will build their future home.

But the question on why the youth of HK want to stand up, they responded immediately. They are part of HK and this is their home too. They want to contribute to the HK society for universal suffrage, to vote for their leader in 2017.
These HK youth were focused with 2 basic reasons. They love HK. They have to protect their future with action.

SINGAPOREAN WANT THEIR FUTURE ?

Would Singaporean youth be able to stand for themselves? First the Singaporean students are brain washed. Many do not believe they are oppressed in Singapore's oppressive society. Their parents are like wise brain washed and defeated. Accepting dysfunction in Singapore while grumbling below their breath. Most Singaporeans are not able to reason and often give many jumbled points, not clear with reasons and often confused. Arguing among ourselves is normal, why do the oppressive party need to deal with dissent, when Singaporeans are beating up each other.

Excuse chit is now a normal acceptable document when the MRT breakdown. Even with the future of our children is at stake, we accept it the damage to our youth.

The Singapore government now tells Singaporeans that degrees are not encouraged, grumbles once more. But who is protesting? Who is taking action? Is grumbling a form of protest? To the world, grumbling stays as grumbles. Nothing will change. So even with a sizeable portion of Singapore's scholarship given to foreign students and not to our own Singaporeans, that is okay.

There are many issues to deal with in Singapore, but do we realise that grumbles is not protest. The only change seen are by the oppressive party destroying Singapore. Nothing else matters but Growth at ALL Cost !

HAT IS HK YOUTH ?

When I asked the HK youth what is their age (about 10 of them), they simultaneously told me one by one ... 18, 17, 19 20 .... not a single one was above 21 years of age, which Singaporeans consider as voting age. Many Singaporean parents would rather buffer their children to be innocent and concentrate to study ONLY. Not that degrees are important (gag).

Focusing on Singaporean youth above 21, they would not be able to hold a candle to these HK teenagers. Most Singaporeans are by default innocent, ignorant and naive. These HK youth are proud to stand here against tear gas, pepper spray, shields, truncheons, dragging of bodies, beatings, and finally ... rubber bullets.

The Hong Kong people speaks only one 'language'........Cantonese.

They communicate in one language.......Cantonese.

Here, LKY did a great job in dismantling any tower of Babel.......

Singaporeans can't speak anything properly, write anything properly, think anything properly.....

It's rotten ROJAK here.

Even if one starts a firechat........use what language?

See the situation when the MRT train breaks down? The announcers and helpers can't even communicate properly......Mandarin half-pail of water, England half-pail of water, Malayu even worse, use Pinoy fucks to speak.......

Protest for what? Get your universal language right first, before talking about universal suffrage.

I tell you this......99.99% of Singaporeans don't even know what the fuck meaning is "universal suffrage".........KNN

To them, suffrage is suffering. They can't tell the difference.

You know your problem? You're only choosing to see and read and interpret only those parts that fit your world-view.

I'm very sure Christine can speak as well in England as in Cantonese and write in Chinese and England as well too.

Try that on Roy or HHH or LTK or Teo Ser Fuck.........Actually, no need. Don't waste your time.

In coffeeshops, you hear people speaking in Hokkien, and some can't even manage a few sentences. Switching from Hokkien to Teochew to Mandarin, all broken.

Then another speaks ridiculous England and ridiculous Mandarin, and another youngster speaks very good singlish England and a bit of Mandarin.

I've seen Pinoy counter staff trying to serve Malay couple, who insist the Pinoy speak Malay to them, because they can't handle England......and this couple is not no auntie or uncle, but young couple.

That is a language quality in Singapore.

Do a survey and ask any one on the street if they know the meaning of "suffrage".

Don't be a frog in your own well. Singapore is finished. It's over.

[Blah, blah, blah ................... more irrelevant scribblings deleted.]

The topic of this thread is NOT language quality but how the youths of Hong Kong differ from those of Sinkieland in their ability and courage to stand up for their rights and those of fellow citizens against tyrants. The latter is the truth that must be grasped if one hopes to be Unsinkified, otherwise he or she or it is indeed FINISHED.

"Distraction, And The Manufacture Of Relevance: Sometimes the truth wells up into the public awareness regardless of what the media does to bury it. When this occurs their only recourse is to attempt to change the public’s focus and thereby distract them from the truth they were so close to grasping. The media accomplishes this by “over-reporting” on a subject that has nothing to do with the more important issues at hand. Ironically, the media can take an unimportant story, and by reporting on it ad nauseum, cause many Americans to assume that because the media won’t shut-up about it, it must be important!"

u dont understand,if the population cant even communicate with each other how are we to be able to understand each other and be of one heart and mind and form a sense of togetherness?singaporeans have been fractured by old fart's policies,we are a fragmented society, the 3 different generations dont even understand each other culturally and linguistically.....the post war generation can only speak dialects and some mandarin and scraps of melayu and english, the baby boomer generation can speak dialect and mandarin and broken singlish, then the y generation mostly speak english and poor mandarin and bits and pieces of dialect, each generation is as alien as .....u look at other countries, hong kies all speak cantonese, pinoys all speak tagalog, germans all speak german, russian speak russian, italian speak italian, all tiongs speak chao ni ma,yes all of them can speak some english as second language but at the end of the day when they speak to their own kind they all speak in their own mother tongue,be it young or old.they identify with their own culture and people.this is what keeps them united.

I agree with Sinkie. Language does play a part.

Language is a big part of culture. And Hongkies have been exporting their Canto culture through television, music and movies. Sinkieland is very young but has started to develop a unique culture. Then around 2008, LKY announced we will never have a culture and destroyed it with the his immigration policy.

Culture gives you identity. Hongkies are very proud to be Hongkies. Sinkies, coming from a young and small country, are still self conscious. You can see many start to become fake angmors after 2 months in NZ/Oz/US/Canada

Without an identity, you do not have a collective soul. Or community spirit.

Without a soul, you have nothing to fight for

So poor sinkies are actually homeless and identity-less. But according to straits times, we have the highest proportion of millionaires in the world

The student protestors in HK are not brave, they are misguided and just the puppets in the political game. Do these students seriously believe that the commies would allow their protest to shake and crumble the city of HK? They can wait long long to achieve what they seek for.

The commies will never yield to their demand and these students are just wasting their time and efforts. Knocking their heads against the commie walls will only crack their own heads.

The students in sinkie land have no reasons to do what their counterparts are doing in HK. To shake the country and disrupt the livelihood of all sinkies in the island is not the way to make life better for everyone. The protest is via the ballot box, not the protest in the streets.
