370 merkava tanks deployed,49 were disabled by a bunch of low tech terrorists with rpgs in 2006.according to other sources,the losses were even higher between 70 and 120.

the israeli werent even using a bunch of lousy leopard tanks....they were using Merkavas..."god's chariots" and they got their sorry ass whopped ahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!stupid overpriced american technology!!!!!

Yes, it should be raised up in the COI, but that is a wayang COI, and SAFOS Minister is sleeping on the job. If you think that should be raised up, than I am going to tell you something that was not raised up that will blow your mind. what was one of the issues discovered in the COI? It was claimed the traffic was very bad and it took the ang chia and all their anti riot personnel way too long to get to the scene of the riots. Ok, nothing new. We know traffic in that area very bad during Friday night. They don't want to put police outriders to escort the ang chias and book every motorists blocking the way, ok up to them. But let me ask you what is the fastest way to get around singapore, given the road congestion and bad traffic. (not to mention all the road works and constructions going on)? The answer is the MRT. Why the COI never ask the SPF how come the Mt Vernon camp location of the riot police is a short walk to Woodleigh MRT station, and only 4 stops away to the Little India MRT station, why couldn't they send their anti-riot squad by MRT? If they can dedicate 5 MRT trains to ferry 3600 ACS students, for sure MRT can allocate 2 trains for the riot police on 24 hours standby and give them priority rail access to any spot in the country, so they can move to hotspots swiftly. The only thing the riot police cannot bring on the MRT is the water cannons mounted on the ang chias. Otherwise, rubber bullets, full riot gear, tear gas, etc. can all go on the MRT. Ang chias can catch up later. In the Little India riots, this would have made the difference as the Gurkhas will have no problem showing maximum punishment to the rioters. You want as many boots on the ground as u can in as short a time possible. The SPF should have commandeered trains at Woodleigh station for their riot police and ordered the trains to go non stop all the way to the Little India station. Why the COI did not require SPF and for all intend and purposes, emergency personnel to be move swiftly and efficiently thru the MRT, i don't know. Like I said, its all bullshit wayang. No sense of urgency, no thinking out of the box. For this we pay millions $ salaries. pui!!

I agree.

I believe that it was the govt.'s policy to use the Gurkhas to deal with racial problems and riots, as well as to protect the Ministers, but why the SPF did not activate the Gurkhas to respond to the riots at Little India begs a BIG question.

Well, based on the SPF's and the Minister's response, it appears that the very senior officers from SPF, the Permanent Sec, and the Minister, may have weaknesses or do not appear to be able to handle the real life challenge(s).

It is in the hands of Iran and Moscow to supply the effective portable missles against USAF planes and israeli planes. Now that especially US & EU dare not send ground troops. You have to take out their planes and crash them down to ground. In Syria Gaza Iraq Afgahnistan etc. Also a larger missile that can be deployed by pickup trucks for longer range to take down the huge transportation and supply aircrafts - similar to that one which took out MH17. If they carried troops there will be big death tolls that is too painful for USA.

Very important strategically. Must must must bring down all the warplanes, as Obama counts almost solely on airstrikes.

The entire standby infantry unit should have been ready to move out in their 3 tonners after word of the riots broke. In case the Police cannot handle it and they need help. this did not happen because Scholar generals cannot see the potential implications of such a riot.
