WHY ARE SO MANY TOP CIVIL SERVANTS AND MINISTERS MILITARY GENERALS?

Post date:
4 Sep 2014 - 5:32pm

By Recruiting more from the Armed Forces, is the PAP preparing for a coup? Is our government a stratocracy (a form of government headed by military chiefs)?

Have you ever wondered why so many of our top civil servants and ministers are top military generals?
Is the government preparing for a coup by ensuring that they have the military on their side? We have already seen how easily the military can throw out the government like it did in Thailand.

We heard recently that more army personnel are joining the Government linked companies, and they are already in the ministries and the PAP.
We have Desmond Kuek, in SMRT and Lui Tuck Yew, a Rear Admiral , in the Ministry of Transport. Both have totally no experience in the field.

The list goes on: Tan Chuan-Jin , in Ministry of Manpower and Chan Chun Sing as the Minister for Social and Family Development as well as Second Minister for Defence.

Why does the Government sacrifice those with talent and relevant experience in the field and choose to hire men from the armed forces instead.
In other countries, for the betterment of the countries, they chose somebody with relevant skills and knowledge in the field in order to give valuable input to improve the country. It seems that in Singapore, the most relevant qualification is a high rank in the military.
What is their motive?

We already have Teo Chee Hean and Lim Hng Kiang are all from the army;
Another shock: there are swarms of military men in the GLCs.

Even in Mediacorp an important tool for government propaganda. Army in mediacorp? Serious ?
Since when are military men good at acting and production of shows? Insurance? Commercial shipping? Properties? Where in the army do you learn property management, sales and development?

Here is a list that I have compiled of various top civil servant and GLC positions filled by military men:
The list is organised by their rank, name and previous top post in the Military followed by their current position in a GLC or public body.

Huge numbers ? Why are there so many army personnel holding high positions in the government linked companies?
Will the oppositions ever take over Singapore? the answer is NO!

Like in Burma , North Korea and formerly Indonesia, where those in the armed forces are rewarded in high places, we seem to be following the same foot-steps, even though they have no relevant experiences in the field.

Burma and Indonesia have given up on this military Junta which was found to be full of complacency and corruption but the PAP are still full swing into it. What is going on?

First they were in the Government offices, then they came to GLCs, are they building up something?

Every election, there is a drop in support for the PAP, for them I believe, it is a ticking time bomb, it is only a matter of time before opposition will take over Singapore, no matter how many foreign mercenaries they brought in, their supports keep dwindling.

Is it possible that when it happens, they want to have the military on their side so that they could hold a coup?

Under the military governments in Burma and Indonesia, the people suffered heavily. There was widespread corruption, poverty, huge income gaps, nepotism and cronyism.

Look carefully, we are following the same footsteps with so many military men in top positions.

Even our PM, himself is a general and we have so many ministers who are army personnel and we have huge numbers in government link companies.
They are there to do the battle. And who are the enemies? The citizens.

History tell us, countries with a high concentration of military men in key positions lead to inefficiency and corruption which will lead to the downfall of a country. But why is our government failing to see it?

top heavy, but bottom are civilian soldiers leh! massive ex-NSF civilian soldiers fedup with the CPF locked up and they can easily form a rebel force if PAP think they have top heavy on their side?

PAP screwed up their own military with unwilling conscripted NSF for cheap labours NDP and fake military paper exercises. Want to train unwilling boh chap NSF soliders, get real?

Now the descendants of ex-NSF soldiers are fed up with their CPF locked out and their sons are enlisted the same road you who you think the sons will listen to?

If there is a military cope, see how many NSF will report to SAF? Lao Peh kpkb order his sons not to go the sons will listen to father first? Under Chinese custom sons listen to father first and fuck SAF. Protect parents are duty of sons in Chinese custom. This is not a external threat but against the very own betrayed government, greedy and incompetent leader of a political party.

PAP build up massive civilian soldiers, as cheap slavery labours, will back fired soon. You cant treat voters as cheap slavery labours no loyalty to employer SAF. PAP go fuck off, want cheap no loyalty expected.

Goh Meng Seng, CSJ are ex-SAF officers and they and us can form cell gropu army forces anytime, trained by Suckers stupid PAP elites thinking they can mobilsed soliders as they wish. Not ininternal threats, external threats maybe.

PAP better kuai kuai return CPF money to ex-NSF now turning 55. More loss of election seats and try using SAF military coup will not work. Forced conscripted civilians to arms and train like soldiers? So clever how come not many 21st countries do it? Ying and yang is working for and against stupid old fart and his PAP.

Political party is elected to government, anyway. Kick out a political party is normal in Westminster colonial master style.

no use, regulars have been brainwashed by the system, just mention the word court martial or disciplinary action or "awol" or desertion they will immediately pee their pants and beg their officers please dont send me away master!!!!please master,Toby the elf is bad!!!!bad toby!!!!!regulars have too much to risk and nothing to gain....everything they know is inside the army and they will tell u they have "no future" outside the military.

when the NSF see grown men like their regulars crying in like a baby, snort and tears running down their face, they will also be lost and confuse and start crying for their mummies too.....end up coup de etat is over,Minister of defense Chan Chun Seng will announce their magnanimousity and generousity and pardon the "lost children" of singapore for their act of rebellion.

There is no loyalty to these paper generals. If there's a coup, it will be launched by junior rank officers, major and below. These officers are more likely to command respect if they have treated their troops well.

The idea sounds far fetched until I think again...will the SAF listen or obey a non PAP gahment?? Not sure!!

You are assuming that these officer would be loyal to the Lee family. They might decide to take over the party & country for themselves & begin their own dynasty.

I doubt these SAF scholar nerds have the cojones to stage a military coup.

This phenomenon is a direct consequence of the SAF scholar system. The PAP constantly gets new faces from the pool of SAF scholars into its ranks. The lesser ones may not be picked for politics, but nevertheless still get parachuted into cushy jobs e.g. NOL, SMRT.

If you don't give them such perks, the PAP's power base will be much weakened.
