if the cancer is caused by radiation surely the organs will not be harvested.....especially the human organs where the microscopic radiation emitting particles are most likely to be concentrated and build up in inside the human body.that would just be placing a time bomb inside another person's body.

I hope they are ethical enough not to do so.

The fact that they would even publish this story, crowing about the rice being sold out, is quite telling.

One of the main reasons for the downfall of the Yingluck government in Thailand is the rice-pledging/rice subsidy programme.

The rice-pledging/rice subsidy policy was what galvanized the "Yellow shirts" to protest throughout Bangkok for more than half a year.

.......You can get first grade rice from many places including Thailand and why the need for this rice is quite silly.

My dear friend: if you knew what I know, you wouldn't want to buy Thai rice. My advice to you is: buy rice from countries other than Thailand, at least for the next 2 to 3 years.

You can be sure pinkie won't eat it. It's blood money

Pinky, like the rest of Familee, gets his food sources from the Istana.

The Istana holds state banquets for Sinkieland's visiting dignitaries from all over the world. You can't serve lousy food to these foreign dignitaries, can you? The people at the Istana buys high-quality premium foods from other countries. Before being prepared at the kitchen, samples of the imported foods are sent for food safety testing.

That's how Old Fart manages to outlive everyone. Pinky hopes to follow in his father's footsteps too.

Thats the beauty of PAP members and grassroots - they will do anything including buying contaminated food blindly. You can get first grade rice from many places including Thailand and why the need for this rice is quite silly.

Could be bought by restaurants owned by pap people who then serve it to unsuspecting customers

30 packs of 10kg. No big deal. We got about 60% supporters here.

"Most of the rice tested in government warehouses 'substandard'"

Excerpt

Tests into the quality of rice in state warehouses have revealed "worrying" results with only about one in five found to be of standard quality, according to a document from the Prime Minister's Office.

The inspection found that only 235 rice samples out of 1,339 samples tested from July 7-31 passed the standard quality, said the document distributed on Friday evening.

"3m tonnes of rice 'is below standard'"

Excerpt

ABOUT 3 MILLION tonnes of rice out of the government's overall stockpile of 18 million tonnes is below standard, said a source from a committee charged with checking the stocks.

For substandard rice, Chookiat suggested that the ministry should sell it to general traders, but it would have to accept a low price because the traders would need to spend money on improving the quality, which entails polishing and sorting the grain. Such quality improvement costs about Bt2,500-Bt3,000 per tonne.

"Thailand's failed rice scheme creates moulding mountains of grain"

Excerpt

Hundreds of thousands of tonnes of rice are being smuggled from Cambodia and Myanmar into Thailand, although the country's warehouses hold enough stock to meet half the world's annual trade in the commodity.

A government investigation found much of it gathering dirt, mould and mildew, so at the very least it will need thorough washing.

Somporn Isvilanonda, a senior fellow at the Knowledge Network Institute of Thailand, said given the volume of rice in storage it is almost impossible for the government to care for it. "The quality of rice in storage drops each day," Professor Somporn said. "The question is how badly our image as the producer of the world's best rice – an image built up over many decades – will be damaged," he said.

Thai military government approves first rice sale since coup

Excerpt

Thailand is estimated to hold up to 18 million tonnes of rice in state stockpiles, almost twice what it used to export each year.

The Southeast Asian nation has mammoth stockpiles of rice after the previous government bought rice from farmers at prices well above market levels for the staple grain.

Why Spore govt is the only reckless one to lift the import restriction while HK govt found it difficult to do so? Why PAP want to keep on shaming Singaporeans and now even want us to consume food that other countries find it not worthy of consumption? PAP is really like shit and not worth their million dollar salaries. HK govt minister is paid how much and yet they can safeguard their citizens! Btw is it only rice or all kinds of Japanese food that will be imported from there?
