thats ok i love communism ideology and communist russia but it scares me when i see people take communist Mao propaganda to the extremes and take it too literally and let it narrow their viewpoint.then again i hate those who hate and bash on communism because they fail to see capitalism in itself is defective and not able to work for majority of the population.we need a system of capitalism and socialism together in order to work.

but im just surprised to see theres actually a real communist movement in singapore and actual communists in the past.....i thought all that was a myth and a construct of old fart's lies and paranoia.

It ended up with 4 factions.

The families of fighters who were wrongly executed by their leaders have never found justice or closure. And we allowed Chin Peng to trapeze from Singapore to Canberra to London for fuck.

I am with you on Mao.

His ideology did not even come close to Communism. In fact he had his own ideology and was famous for his United Front doctrine which is actually more a military and political strategy to work with your enemies first and then take over.

Interesting it was Sam who raised that issue that Mao was responsible for largest massacre in World history in this forum. Read Frank Dikotter's book on the Tragedy of. Liberation. He is a scholar and the book is riveting and at the same time can reduce you to tears. The South where our ancestors came from were largely spared but the country had many evils and the world was not aware because they had closed the country for decades.

because it is not shallow and superficial.....putting the people,the society,the masses before self,everything resonates perfectly with whats right.the culture and unity.

unfortunately human nature is shallow,greedy and selfish and shortsighted....thats why capitalism works to a certain extend,capitalism treats humans as animals not as a collective.dont worry one day mankind will evolve to become highly advanced super intelligent aliens,then we will see the truth.

The communist history in Singapore is also exciting as none other than Ho Chi Min was in Singapore when it was founded. It's history has been fiercely shielded by ISD because the links to our glorious ruling party is too close. well both systems are not perfect.communism would be more relevant in the early 20th century.

but thats why deng xiaoping took steps towards reforming communism!!!towards a softer,better communism!!!!

The West is leading mankind because it is built on Capitalism but heavily moderated by liberalism and socialism. The free press is the work of liberalism and nothing to do with the Capitalism. Trying passing a law in Use to muzzle the press.

Anti trust laws came out from the west to break up excessive capitalism. The laws were not the work of Capitalism.

No he didn't. :rolleyes:

What he did do was to abandon central planning, the hallmark of the Marxist-Leninist states, in favor of a free market economy adopted by capitalist systems. However, he had to tread carefully so as not to cause a major upheaval so he went to great lengths to package his reforms so that they still appeared to fit into the communist mould.

In theory, communism is fantastic. I too was much enamored towards the system when I was young and ignorant. Imagine everyone happily together all taking care of each other in a classless society where everyone is absolutely equal. No jealousy, no one upmanship, no resentment, no unfairness... sounds like heaven on earth doesn't it.

It looks like the SG govt or administration works in mysterious ways.
It is unusual to appoint a newer Justice as CJ, when there are several Justices who have been at the High Court longer than this S.M.
