We are referring to one of the most ruthless and cruel regimes ever-just look at the way they emasculated the trade unions and trampled on the democratic rights of the people.
The way they import foreigners and allow housing prices to go crazy thereby causing severe hardship to most locals show this is by no means a humane group of people.

PAP rule had destroyed three main things:
1) Legitimate unions to fight for workers' rights and defend against employers' exploitation.
2) Free press (and also related to freedom of expression, freedom of assembly, academic freedom etc).
3) Cultural identity: bilingual policy shoved down everyone's throats.
