see that sinkies? a protest and a strike can make the authorities shiver in fear... citizen should know how to use such person power that they possess.

A ball-less person has no future whatsoever.

Because your 46.75% "majority" Government is ball-less to arrest the protesters against the outbound toll rate of RM 5.80 ?

If really cause by 2 buy driver. It only mean Malaysia Police and security in JB custom really useless.
Either tow away the 2 bus or police should go up drive the bus shift to the side let other pass thru.

Or news try to cover up maybe more than 2 bus involve maybe 100 bus.

The companies who employ them are better off opening their factories/companies in Malaysia as they can save labour cost by paying lower salaries in Ringgit and Malaysia also have lower land cost/rentals and taxes.
There is no benefit to local Singaporeans to have such companies here as they employ mainly foreigners and add to our traffic problems and cost of rentals/housing.

Very good point.

Can you please pose your question to Pinky's gabrament?

The strike was due to the Msia govt tolls increase many fold on 1 Aug and this affects them tremendously as it is a per trip basis and that is what the bus drivers are protesting, nothing to do with Spore VEP that does not affect the buses.

Alternatively those msian bus co/drivers can raise their bus fares (which ferry workers and school children) to offset the tolls charges right? No need to go on strike.

Watched on news just now, one of them said the factory buses have signed contract with the companies and cannot increase price to cover the increase in toll fees. That is why they strike, if not would have just increased the fares like those public buses will do.

That is the factory buses problem,,,anyway,,singapore should just break away from these dependence on mudland,,but all in all its the mudlanders that need singapore more,,,mudland will be a greater economic basket case if singapore has not supported the mudland worker in letting them work in singapore,,,

......

Mr Tan said the "strike" by the bus drivers caused heavy traffic congestion at the Checkpoint. Factory workers had to disembark at the Malaysian CIQ and walk a long distance into Singapore to board buses to their workplace.

Another caller said the congestion at the Malaysia CIQ has affected school children travelling into Singapore. He said most of them will be late for school this morning.

My Goodness, we are not only having buses of workers crossing the causeway everyday to make good money but also buses of Malaysian school children crossing the causeway everyday to squeeze with our school children for good education?

Is MOE aware of this? Why are we educating bus loads of our neighboring country school children for? Primary and Secondary Education here is heavily subsidized with our taxpayers money. What will this policy benefit Singapore? So that they can return back 10 years later in load of buses across the causeway as cheap labours for the Singapore company benefit? Like that our Singaporean childrens will never be able to fight off high inflation with their depressed future salary.

We all know this is happening. They like our education system and Johorians will subject their kids to hour long journey to get to our schools.

Indeed. In fact, before you build the Downtown Line Stage 2/3/4, Thomson Line and Changi Coastal Line etc, first ensure that your core North-South and East-West MRT lines are functioning properly.

You can't even do your basic job properly and want to build additional MRT lines including one that reaches JB? LOLOL!:biggrin:

If both countries are really serious, and with commuter interest in mind, they would have built a short rail extension along the old ktm track connecting woodland to kranji. This is a very simple, quick and cheap alternative compared to mrt proposal to jb.trams can be used between jb to woodlands/ kranji.

I agree, we should employ more ah neh and pinoy (nt the ah tiongs as they defecate in public areas and a social nuisance to the society) at least this FT's spent their earnings in sinkapore as they are no choice but to live here... the m&ds actually have the best of both world's sinkie's salary and live malaysian cost of living

All these companies I believe are mainly PCB electronic component assemblers, such as SEAGATE, MICRON. They are granted with various tax incentives and paying very little tax to SG government, such as OHQ, R&D Centre, Pioneer status, and etc. Should kick them out as they are labour intensive and contribute little to government coffer.

Very good point.

We can provide education for kids of foreigners or SPR working and residing here in Singapore. But why are we providing subsidized education at primary school and secondary school level to Malaysian kids residing in their own country. What is our govt purpose for doing so? Is the real intention to provide charity education to our neighbouring country kids?

Why are we putting the Johorean kids to such commutting stress everyday? Will we be blamed in the future for destorying their kids childhood days?

When SMRT train services start running in the near future into JB, these bus drivers can forget driving their buses permanently into sinapor.

You are delusional. If the 2 govt cannot come to the table to discuss a simple issue of entry fees, you seriously believe SMRT will run into JB???

Bro..yes, these mnc did have all sorts of silly tax break and also hire loads of msian...but at the same time, they collectively hire ten of thousands of Singaporeans...meant supporting more than ten of thousand of families..without them, a lot of locals will eat grass ....
