Everything in singapore is made deliberately complicated. buying car, retirement CPF, education system, healthcare system, etc. just one of the PAP ways to confuse and smoke sinkies, so that its easier to sneak in shit policies like this one.

For starters try the taxi price menu.....made complicated so you give up calculating the fare

SG gov/LTA become really idiot.
Should base on CC not power. Small CC but more power meaning more efficeint engine therefore use less fuel.
Now new stupid rule is 1st in the world and the most funny.

The size of the engine has nothing to do with its efficiency. Even large 3 litre 6 cylinder engines can be more fuel efficiency in the proper context over small CC engines. Small cc engines are efficiency if the driver is the only occupant, and it carries a light load. These small engines are usually installed in light and small subcompact cars. If you load a family of 4 plus luggage into these cars and go on a trip that involves hill climbing, or even just to drive around town, the engine will be straining and revving at high rpms. this makes the engine burn much more petrol than it normally does because the load is heavy for a vehicle that size and the engine performs outside of its optimal range.

A 6 cylinder 3 litre engine can haul 4 people and their luggage in a much more efficiency manner than a small car, because its optimal fuel economy range is designed around this load. Its is entirely possible for a larger engine car to burn less petrol than a smaller car given the same driving course, distance and load, simply because it was within its optimal fuel economy where as the smaller car is over its optimal fuel economy. Also, you can have a small cc car like an RX-8 with a 1300cc engine, but after the turbo charging and what not, it has worse fuel economy than many 6 cylinder cars.

Categorising based on car horsepower is dumbest thing to do. No two dynos are the same even for a controlled environment. Thats why cars dyno a few times and take the highest.

Sigh.....

Yes, no 2 dynos are the same. But the standard deviation is not large. The deviation between engine power and power at the wheel on the other hand, is significant.

its incredibly stupid how all these LTA buggers are. it just skow how little they knwo about car engines. if the german makers want to qualify for cat A , they just need to program the ECU air-fuel mixture ratio to higher and the power would drop. after inspection they can reprogram it to full power capacity. no need any high tech adjustment or any additional equipment to make a fool of LTA. LTA is just making things difficult for everyone because the whole place is staff by morons. look at the VEP fiasco started by them and its has blown up till the malaysian are fedup and wants revenge and now everybody suffers!!! this is what you get from supposedly some idiotic scholar who cannot think. the best way to categorise A from B is just by their OMV period.

I don't own a german car now that is a tunable one. But I understand its not so easy. The ecu does not allow re-programming of specific parameters like the air fuel mixture. You have to reflash the entire ecu that contains your fuel and timing map and replace it with a new or reflashed version that is set to the fuel air mixture you want. That's why tuners replace the entire chip and not just reprogram it. Also when you play with the ecu chip, you also have to look at changing the O2 sensor. And after alll this, the German car dealer still has to put it on its own dyno to check for sure the power is reduced by what it wants. its a lot of hassle just to deceive the idiots at LTA. Its much easier to let LTA 'discover' the power is less than what the engine power says it should be, simply because they measured it at the wheel. The whole purpose of this exercise according to LTA is to catch German dealers selling cars with greater engine power than they advertised, so as to avoid other categories that are not Cat A. By doing nothing, and letting the idiots at LTA dyno the car, it will already show the reduced power. No need for this ecu putzing around.

Even the bus fares have a complicated fare structure. I was looking at this poster & there were 5+ categories of riders e.g. adult, youngsters, students, NS men, senior citizens,...

After looking at the crowded poster I gave up trying to remember the details.

Isn't that the reason why the dynamometer test is being done. They are not going say it in their official press release and interviews that the German are cheating via ECU changes. The test hooks up to the actual engine block and measures the maximum engine power output. It a mechanical test.

This is really dumb.

All that is needed is to reduce the power by programming the ECU before export and then just plug in a laptop and re program before delivery to the customer.

riding the sg public transportation system is extremely easy and convenient with the ez-link card. there's no practical need to look at the fare structure and poster explaining the various categories of riders, as fares are relatively cheap for all categories. in the u.s., i have to carry a clipper card for bart, a day pass ticket for valley transportation authority (vta) buses, another day pass ticket for alameda county transit (act) buses, and another day pass ticket for the sf muni. don't even have to mention the various fare structures and categories of riders among these totally different systems. tickets and passes are not transferable, and the total fare for me per day can come up to usd18! sinkies should consider themselves extremely lucky.

I got pretty confused by the meaning of brake horsepower after reading here. To my understanding, bhp is the actual horsepower of an engine when it is not attached to any ancillary parts.

Bhp is measured by attaching a brake directly to the motor shaft. Power is then applied by the brake to stop the angular acceleration of the engine. The power applied to the brake is measured and recorded by a dynamometer. It is called brake horsepower because it is the power needed to stop the engine from accelerating. Conversely, bhp is the actual power of the engine with nothing attached to it.

Problem is it reversible by reprogramming the ECU back via ECU reflash or piggyback. And in most cases the power gain will be 10 to 20% more than the original factory spec.

It does not matter as the Dynamometer has already determined the power capacity of the engine block. The test does not factor in the ECU.

All these tests nothing to do with worth of car.
Nothing to do with cost of car

Everything to do with how low you have to keep your head down down and how high your arseholes to be kept high high so PAP can tieu and fuck and rape your anus and how much $$$$ they can screw from you.

Plotzensee_nooses.jpg

Hang those PAP maggots cockroaches with piano wires from lamp posts to make them dance before it is too late and we have no more CPF to get back.
BBQ those PAP maggots cockroaches before it is too late and we have no more CPF to get back.
Cut a few more arseholes into those PAP maggots cockroaches to let out their shit before it is too late and we have no more CPF to get back.
Make those PAP maggots cockroaches eat joss sticks and candle wax before it is too late and we have no more CPF to get back.

If anything is not complicated, then it is not the Sinkie way. Think COE, think taxi fare structures, think road tax, think primary school registration.

Hook what up to the engine block? U have no knowledge of what is a dynamometer, nor how it works. Nothing is hooked up to the engine block. Where on the engine block can you hook up anything?

1989 is not long enough??? That was the stone age.

u are such a retard. U are talking about Lexus LS400, right? debutted in 1989. At that time, many laughed at it. It was a copy of a mercedes S class, right down to the front bonnet. Only with the reliability of a Toyota engine. for this, u want to build a museum? What an ass. Why don't u look up the history of bentley, alfa romeo, audi, mercedes, ferrari, etc. and learn what real automotive history is.

Only a jack ass idiot like you would ride 4 different transit systems in the bay area and pay $18 a day in fares. Helloooooooo, u are in the country with the cheapest cars in the world. BUY ONE. No matter where u are in the bay area, u will still pay less than $18 a day in petrol.

That is why his nick is "EAT SHIT" .

Back in Sinkie he is Balless to complain about almost everything being so HIGH COST.

But over in a foreign land where it is JACK SHIT CHEAP to own and run his own Private transport , he goes public!!

This is the type of jack shit Sinkie mindset that is filling the Sinkie space.

Keep being this way. Soon he will be EXTINCT! LoL

Is there a Lexus museum ?

Unfortunately not Leongsam, they do feature Lexus technology there though. This is a great place to learn the very basics of things even AWD there is a model for visitors to play with to understand and also other simple things like differential gear all explained. A great place to bring kids too.
