Previously Germany train no problem, then now China train, which is heavier and caused more breakdown. Now free charging, careful, one chicken wing out, take back the whole chicken.

If battery weak normally need 2 hour to charge base on original charger.
If low voltage maybe 1A it will take 4 to 5 hour.
If SMRT provide 3A charger then would be reasonable for quick charge 15min can charge 20%.

you can leave your phone to charge there while you take train to go do your business

.. pick your fully charged phone on your way back

SMRT anticipate more breakdowns of train service. While waiting for service to resume, you can charge your HP flat battery at the station.

Wrong
You charge your phone so that you can call a cab to send you home when a MRT "breakdown" occurs

I think some of the MRT trains aren't even new ones. They are old trains which have been refurbished by some Korean company.

SINGAPORE: A train fault at Novena station caused a delay on the North-South Line on Wednesday morning (July 23).

In a tweet posted at about 9.10am, train operator SMRT said commuters will need an estimated 20 minutes additional travelling time from Toa Payoh to Newton station. Six minutes later, it posted another tweet advising an additional 40 minutes travelling time for commuters.

SMRT also tweeted that free bus services are available at Toa Payoh station towards Newton.

When Channel NewsAsia visited Toa Payoh station at 9.50am, train service had resumed, although there was some confusion over whether free bridging bus services were still available.

Crowds were seen spilling over to the nearby Toa Payoh bus interchange and bus stops, while the taxi stand outside MRT Exit C snaked almost all the way to the staircase heading back down to the station.

Over at Novena MRT station, passengers on board a southbound train heard the train captain talking over the intercom with a passenger, who informed him that someone had fainted on the train. The train captain replied that he would alert medical personnel, according to a commuter who identified herself as Ms Eileen.

The latest incident comes two days after the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said it intends to fine SMRT and SBS Transit a total of S$1.65 million for five separate incidents between October 2013 and May this year which led to disruptions in service.

...

So the new excuse is that someone overcharged their mobile and caused a blackout at the station?
