We're talking about jolly old fellas. Apparently, according to asiaone, "Older workers are eagerly anticipating the extension, for different reasons. Close to 60 per cent of those who told ST they are willing to work beyond 65 said they enjoy working as it keeps them connected with society."
Nothing wrong working.
But something wrong with society if too many choose to, and furthermore in occupations like cleaner where obviously job satisfaction and recognition is not there to put it very mildly

what is there to complain about if you are referring to oldfart working? We are not talking about the lower-income bracket. We are actually talking about old people who don't mind working and getting a pay cut after being re-employed.
Old people should be playing with their grand kids and doing volunteer work!! Not full time job!

lets face it,90% of the elderly i encounter that still participate in the work force, work because they need the money, they look financially destitute or not very well off and depend on that miserable wage to stay alive.....let me ask u if u had $200k savings in ur bank, would u get out of the bed everyday and go to some shitty ass job for a $40 paycheck a day?
let me tell u,if i was a 60 year old lao uncle with 600k in my bank account and 1.4m in private property,i would be sitting at PAIZA MBS everyday with a glass of double scotch on the rocks betting $300 a hand on the bacarrat table with 2 atb syt on my side.....not cleaning some goddam toilet bowl for $40 a day.
bacarrat casino edge only 1.06%.....if i wager $10000 an hour, or $30000 a night....i only lose $300 per night......i can gamble 365 days a year and maybe lose only $108k.
