A clear and present threat to Singapore's society.

This is an in-depth article on the Joel's Army (aka Elijah's Army) in Singapore.

The AWARE steeplejackers and their deep connections to Joel's Army and American dominionists

Put very succinctly: These groups feel they have a literal mandate from God to take over the world--including governments and all institutions of society--by any means necessary. The reasons do vary--the groups descended from pentecostal and "charismatic" (more properly termed "neopentecostal") denominations and parachurches tend to couch it in terms of countries or nations being at risk of "losing God's blessing". Some groups go further than this--seeing themselves literally as proxies of God's will.

A third lineage--increasingly associated with Singapore's "religious right"--is that of a "postdenominational" movement linked to C. Peter Wagner and his International Coalition of Apostles. These folks are among the most hardcore of the "Joel's Army" folks; Wagner and fellow NAR promoter Rick Joyner coined the phrase "Joel's Army" (and abandoned it when mainstream and conservative evangelical Christian groups in the US picked up on the phrase and started warning folks about the NAR groups), attempt to convert churches from within even more aggressively than the Assemblies-linked groups and parachurch orgs, and outright see themselves as proxies for the will of God.

Based on a list of megachurches in Singapore that was forwarded via a sympathetic contact, I was able to do some evaluations of these groups--and found (to my horror) that literally every megachurch in Singapore is connected to NAR groups. This is, of course, discounting the "LOVE Singapore" org, which in and of itself is linked to NAR promoter and Wagner "apostle" Ed Silvoso.

Among the Singapore churches identified by the article are:

Church of Singapore
Covenant Evangelical Free Church
Victory Family Centre
Lighthouse Evangelism
City Harvest Church
New Creation Church
Faith Community Baptist Church
(founded in 1986 and not really Baptist in any sense of the word; its actual affiliation is small NAR denomination called G12 that is part of Wagner's network of "postdenominational" churches and whose pastor is listed as a member of Wagner's International Coalition of Apostles)
Trinity Christian Center
Jesus Lives Church
(founded 1986 and whose pastor is in the ICA directory--and who explicitly invokes NAR theology about Singapore being some sort of "spiritual gate" that must be secured, hence the probable reason for the country's targeting)
Many Others
(Reportedly no less than 40 churches in Singapore participated in the "Transformation 2009" conference.)

Makes me wonder why is the PAP Government not doing anything to curb the rise of Christian Dominionism in Singapore. It's going to be a time bomb if allowed to fester any longer.

The Dangers of Dominionism

I am of the firm conviction that it is only through the theological framework of Historical / Classic / Apostolic Premillennialism that one can truly follow Jesus in the manner that He proscribed in the New Testament.

I am also of the firm conviction that Dominion theology fundamentally undermines both Christian theology and practice, and is responsible for some of the greatest failures of the Church historically.

Christian Dominionism, alternately called Post-Millennialism, Kingdom Now theology, Theonomy, or Christian Reconstructionism is very popular in many quarters of the Charismatic Movement and is gaining influence in many mainstream Evangelical churches as well.

Christian Dominionism holds that the primary mission of the Church is to Christianize the world, literally taking over the whole earth for Jesus. Dominionism holds that this is the mandate and destiny of the Church rather than of Christ Himself at the time of His return.

In recent years, something known as “The Seven Mountain Prophecy” has gained a broad following among many charismatics. This “prophecy” holds that God is calling the Church to conquer the following seven spheres of influence: Family, religion, education, entertainment, media economy, and finally the government.

Christian Dominionists often interpret Jesus’ commandment to “go into all the world and make disciples of all nations” in a way similar to the recent American Neo-conservative program of spreading democracy and nation building. Many Dominionists are less focused on good old fashioned evangelism and more focused on the next election. When the primary emphasis of Christian change is directed toward law and government, the change is primarily an external one, enforced from without.

Premillennialists on the other hand, view Jesus’ commandment to “make disciples of all nations” as speaking simply of making disciples of individuals from all nations. This is a change that begins internally, reaching one heart at a time, ultimately changing society and culture from within.

Christian Dominionism is rooted in a dualistic Greek-philosophical influenced worldview rather than a holistic Hebraic-Biblical worldview. When one embraces the dualistic Greek-philosophical worldview, they will either overly focus on conquering this world (as Dominionism does) or escaping to heaven (as Pre-Trib Rapture Dispensational Premillennialism does). Classic Premillennialism fixes its hope not in this present world, nor in an eternal immaterial heavenly state, rather in the day when heaven and earth become one under the headship of Christ. Biblical hope has always been fixed on the resurrection of the righteous dead and the redemption of all creation.

The danger of Dominionist theology is in its emphasis on taking over the earth for Jesus. This may sound good to some, but once this is viewed as the mission of the Church, rather than the mission of Jesus at the time of His return, then the mandate of dominion must also logically extend to every facet of government, law, and even the military. Historically, whenever the Church has achieved this level of complete control, the result has always been catastrophic.

The Dominionist idea that the Church is the embodiment of God’s Kingdom in the earth logically leads to the idea that the Church is the executor of God’s justice in the earth. The military becomes the means by which the Church Triumphant attains victory.

Too late Singapore, the dominionists not only already infiltrated most of the civil services and key government organs. They have also gained foothold in the major opposition parties. Gerald Giam is a dominionist, confirmed one. His real objectives are not opposition causes but to setup a christen kingdom for christ.

Singapore, too late and you are 'blessed'!

These identified dominionist militant churches are real threats to nationality securities. The inept PAP government is banning Jehovah Witness which posed no real threat to national security except the nation lost some head counts to do NS, they should step in to proactively clamped these militant churches. And what is ISD doing?
