MBS Rakes in $520M from Apr - Jun 2014

According to the Las Vegas Sands Earning's report, Marina Bay Sands posted a 17.6% increase in profits in the second quarter of this year as gambling profits and room rates increased.
In total, the earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation were S$518,7 million for the three months from April to June.
In particular, the casino earned a lot more from high rollers at the casino with win rates increasing to 3.45% from 2.53% the same time last year.
Slot machines also saw an increase in gambling while table games saw between 4.9% and 27.3% decreases in spending.
MBS win rates against non high rollers also improved to 24.8% up from 23.4% last year.
Marina Bay Sands hotel also saw good profits as occupancy rates remained almost full at 99.1% despite room rates increasing 30% to an average of US$409 per night.
Chairman and CEO of Las Vegas Sands, Mr Sheldon Adelson, explained that the Singapore Casino and hotel has value much higher than just its financial performance.
Mr Adelson explained that the site is an "important reference" for other countries looking to build integrated resorts.
He gave an example of Japan where they are looking to start allowing casinos to be built. Currently, Japan has no casinos but seeing the success of Singapore's resorts, they may soon be changing their minds.

soon the japanese, koreans, thais, vietnamese, laos, even taiwanese would have casinoes and then you see how profitable it gets then???seems everybody jumping on the market.

Unlikely ....today MBS and RWS total rev is higher than the Las Vegas strip...if LV strip can survive the onslaught of Macau and s'pore...me think MBS/RWS probably will be too though rev/profit will drop..

Are you placing the bet at RWS or MBS?

i love how Christians and dominionists are making such a big fuss about gays and whatnot,when right here is a true cancer of society.....something that contributes absolutely nothing to the growth and development of the economy but siphons out massive sums of wealth from the country and dumps it into the pockets of fat cat scum of the earth like sheldon adelson.

500 million in 3 months my god,a company that produces absolutely nothing and provides nothing essential whatsoever but makes 500 million in 3 months.....even geylang whorehouses have more value than that......imagine thats the value of what smrt and ntuc and comfort delgro and st logistics provides and they dont even make that much money.

Other countries cannot suka suka open casinos like our pap dynasty la.....

Also vile pappies still got many tricks up their sleeves yet haven employ....
Allow for junkets, abolish entry fee, offer incentives....these will come into play when business is down.
With plans to orher more casinos....The casinos are too big to fail....

Koreans have a casino at Sheraton Hotel, Walker's Hill...........................

Christians are the most pro-establishment types, the stereotypical 'grateful gong kias'. They are the ones who cheerfully pay their taxes ('give unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar') and happily vote the incumbent political party (Romans 13:1).

Partly, it's because they're so assured of a blissful afterlife in heaven awaiting them, they do not mind the temporal sufferings in life. And they have no qualms about dragging down the people who do not share their beliefs and want to reform society, throw out the tyrants etc.

Walker hill isn't the only casino in SK...though it was the first one I believe.....and for awhile was the only one.
And Koreans were banned from their casinos though now the law been relaxed.
So you see the trend? From one casino to a dozen more then from local no entry ban to no ban.....

Thought I saw a few koreans in the casino when I visited a few years ago.

No doubt it's all about $$$$$$, just that some are more straightforward about it, while others are humbugs................................

Likewise when they started football betting.....only start with S league matches....excuse was to support S league and eradicate bookies from fixing local games.
Then started offer odds on World Cup 2002 as a one off event.....
Then slowly but surely you can bet on many leagues and even other sports....
It was all in the masterplan from the beginning....

Vile pappies are fucking humbugs, plus deluded and/or no self awareness, that's the main reason why I detest them..........................

Not so much because they are materialistic or power hungry, since most people in those positions would be to.
