Singapore Polytechnic library has similar profile
Although manager of acquisition is empowered, director of library always tags along buyiung inter alia, magazines, AV media she personally like or need.
She pays with her credit card and the points therefrom go where?
What about those hampers frequently sent to her home? Huat ah........

Your allegation should be sent straight to the CPIB for their attention. If still unsure whether CPIB would follow up, copy it as well to the Minister for Education and the PM. It should trigger some reaction unless both of them are sleeping too.

When are they going to call a spade a spade.
The spade is called CORRUPTION.
If it is not CORRUPTION, then it is INCOMPETENCE - and heads must roll!.
All these bloody play of words and putting on a clean face to the world that we are clean.
Oops, daydreaming. Silly me.

Sinkies should always report suspicion of corruption and incompetence in the civil service to the CPIB or the relevant Ministries. No use to keep quiet and let the culprits get away with it.

Love doing procurement in Singapore. Missed the seafood hampers, etc etc.

Receiving gratification in cash or in kind, including hampers, is an offence under the POC Act. Value of gifts like hampers received must be declared whether you are a civil servant or an employee of a private company. When caught, you may be indicted for an offence under the POC Act. Many people think the POC Act applies only to civil servants which is wrong. It applies to those working in private companies as well.

You make noise...your head will roll. These people are rolling all the way to bank every month....

Many prosecutable cases were made as a result of anonymous complaints from the public. Your head will not roll if your anonymous complaint is not made maliciously. Stop the culprits from rolling their way to the bank.

Many foreigners think sinkapoo is a free for all country and they can indulge in corruption and other malpractices like what they used to do in their home countries. Foreigners caught for committing criminal offences must be deported to deter their countrymen from repeating the same offences.

Government procurement continues to roll along despite many years of AG's findings and comments. I remember a senior officer sat on a tender committee when her relative was bidding for a tender.

The most famous case was when the Ho Bee's chairman, CCC chairman resigned as Chairman of Sentosa Development Corporation and immediately bid for development work which turned out to be Sentosa Cove. This was the project where foreign buyers got PR as a package. It's is certainly trading on inside information.

Then we had the cabinet minister whose husband was operating an investment fund and sat on a special list where foreigners who wanted residency could qualify by investing in that fund.

I would consider that shameless.

Tembusu Partners’ headquarters in Singapore has relocated from 20 Cecil Street, #14-05 Equity Plaza, Singapore 049705 to its new office at 10 Collyer Quay, #03-10 Ocean Financial Centre, Singapore 049315.

Fucking Phillip Noel Yeo. The prefix from me; free of charge.

Philip is the little small man who had a spat with Chen Jiahoa on some scholarship matters.

In the end, the little man lost. And we lost a talent. ( google phillip yeo spat with Chen jiahao)

Later Jiahao went to complete his Phd on his own.. Wonder if he has taken up the greencard.?

Philip should ask his conscience why our Defence Minister allowed his son, Patrick Tan, a 12 years hiatus to do research
whereas Jiahao only ask for one more year under his bond to finish his further studies.

Guess who your father is, is important..

Jiahao father is a taxi driver whereas the other father is a Defence Minister.

And to add insult to injury, most of the books which the NLB acquires are crap. Good titles are either not found at all (censorship?), or the newer popular novels can only be found at a few libraries. For example, you might have to travel all the way to the Orchard library just to borrow a book, because those libraries in the heartland areas don't have it.

This is not the first time the Auditor-General has highlighted financial discrepancies in Singapore's public institutions. I remember there was one year when Mindef had it quite bad.

But what are they going to do about it? It's like it is getting worse every year.

Not surprising at all. Smaller libraries like that of Singapore Polytechnic also have their favourite million dollar vendor......... requisition dept of the library division goes shopping 100% of the time with director of library tagged along. Such mega purchases made her VVIP and she is well rewarded with goodies like festive hampers sent to her home. Alone DVD purchases will put to shame many poly or U... YES DVD incl blockbuster hollywood or bollywood or hongkie hottie.
Question is why we have two highly paid bums doing library requisition/purchases together? One of them ought to be retrenched!

Corruption reeks from all over the place;
my favourite - the numerous back dated documents regarding the tenders for the Gardens by the Bay.
Or is it the MINDEF case where land was leased to a private company for less than 2% of actual commercial rate rental,
for a few years?
