This is hardly unique to Singapore. In Britain, it's the networking at Eton that forms the basis for political and administrative appointments.

In America, it's friends who formed strong bonds while they were in Stanford or Harvard who team up to start companies. When they go public, they look for their own kind to fill the boardroom.

It is human nature to look for someone you know and trust when it comes to choosing a member to join your team. In the world of sports, you look for someone who compliments your style of play. In politics, you're looking for those who share your vision of how the country should be run.

likewise google is cronyism. meritocracy is an illusion!

Ah leong forgot to mention that it is exactly the Etonian bs that the opposition is running on. They look the same talk the same marry each other's sisters. In austerity people hate the elite. And that hatred will be behind the ballot box

But in England or America, the politicians don't use taxpayers monies to perpetuate their individual or families' wealth. Not with such elaborate and blatant scheming anyway. And that's one hell of a fucking difference.

A little bird once told me the following:

Under the auspices of GIC and Temasick, the First Familee has established shell companies in other tax havens using a complex web of networks that makes identification of the actual owners/shareholders next to impossible.

These shell companies "borrow" money from Temasick to fund their investments and when the latter make profits, the loans are repaid to Temasick and the profits deposited with the shell companies. In this way the First Familee does not need to make use of their own money to invest. Whether this is legal depends very much on the boards of GIC and Temasick, who are helmed by you-know-who....

did the little tweety bird tell you the emperor of Japan can order the JIc and Jemasick
to bump in more Yen to support those failed company owned by the emperor ?

UBS suffered among the largest losses of any European bank during the subprime mortgage crisis and the bank was required to raise large amounts of outside capital. In 2007, the bank received a large capital injection from the Government of Japan Investment Corporation, which remains one of the bank's largest shareholders.

like that do business sure make money ,
don't want to become a billionaire also beri difficult.

If you buy the epub format from ebook.farm, it costs less than 4 US dollars.

A meal at Boon Tong Kee Chicken Rice or Loy Kee Chicken Rice costs about 10 US dollars.

you need to register in ebook farm and it is only by invite.. invite by who?? God?

Exactly. Good post, bro. This should make Leongsam shut the fuck up.

A little bird also told me that should the day PAP falls to the opposition, the entire Lee family would have to take flight from Singapore as there would be overwhelming evidence of those misdeeds you pointed out. The little bird also said no Singaporean would let the Lee family get out alive once all such sins are uncovered. And even if the Old Fart is dead by then, the people will dig out his grave and pulled his corpse out!!!

Wild accusations made by a twit who does not have a shred of evidence whatsoever.

There are many shreds of evidence available from Western intel agencies.

The US uses them to coerce the First Familee to do whatever the former wishes.

If only the Chinese had those shreds of evidence, Sinkapore under LHL would easily become a county of China.

Yup. Take for instance Lee family's dealing (through the GLCs) with Myanmar's military junta for decades in all sorts of shady businesses, including arms. The US absolutely knows of this and had the Lee family by the balls!

There is nothing shady or illegal about selling arms.

Here's some information on the top 15 arms exporters for 2013

As you can see it contains democratic and "caring" societies like Sweden, Netherlands and Switzerland.

In Singapore's case, it is shady because it's done clandestinely. The Lee family took pains to hide the fact that it is dealing with a military regime that the whole world frowns upon and which heavy sanctions were being imposed. Singapore on the surface supports the world's call for the Myanmar army to stop abusing human rights and take the democratic path. But under the table, it was massively selling arms to them. Little wonder that their army generals chose to educate their children here and checked into our hospitals for treatment. How's that for a government which the Old Fart described as having 100% integrity.

The Western Nations who impose sanctions on Myanmar are nothing but cowards and bullies. Myanmar is of little economic significance to them so they can get on their high horse to preach human rights.

When it comes to human rights violations, China is up there with the best but the West conveniently overlooks this fact because there is big money to be made trading with China.

NZ is exactly the same when it comes to this sort of hypocrisy. It imposes sanctions on Fiji because it is not a democracy while it signs trade deals with China because it is a huge market for NZ dairy and meat. China isn't a democracy either but $$$$ overrides this fact.

I see nothing wrong with Singapore selling arms to a fellow Asean Nation. SEA nations should help each other as we part of the same community. To hell with the West and its hypocritical sanctions.

sg was doing the world a favor by engaging the junta and helping burma with economic development when most of the world avoided dealings with her. the u.s. pretended as if burma faced a trade embargo and u.s. scorn, but the dea were secretly involved with the junta in the drug trade and the cia were aiding and funding separatist and rebel groups and at the same time facilitating security by aiding the junta for unocal to tap energy sources and build a pipeline there. isolating a military regime encourages bad behavior to become worst. while sg was investing in civilian projects there, u.s. agencies were wasting taxpayers' money on covert nefarious activities that brought in more weapons and munitions to fighting factions and death and destruction to innocent civilians.

http://www.business-humanrights.org/en/unocal-lawsuit-re-myanmar

the cia and dea have a long history with burma, northern thailand, and laos. this death of a former cia operative story is just a tiny snippet of what really has been going on there...
