Battle proven with BPL experience, forget strootman, get him n roy keane replacement is done. Age not on his side though but buy us two years

LVG still wants Strootman and this is where I lost him. The player had a serious injury, came back and broke down. He's probably on an extended recovery period that could take at least one and a half years provided nothing goes wrong and he's still keen to buy him? Seems like there are no other players available or just plain bias.
Strootman is a good player but if you shell out 20-25 million pounds for him, you might just lose all of it after a few games.

I thot Depay is the target man for United and he's well suited for the premier league. If he comes, that will be the end of Falcao, RVP or both.

After balotelli, rogers is digging his grave if he gets falcao. Better he gets sterling to sign an extension n get another young striker i dun give a fuck who, austin for all i care.

LVG will be at man u next season, i think they will wait n time with guardiola leaving munich. Klopp may come or real madrid may get him, never know.

You never know with the Glazers. They may just recall Moyes and I betcha you'll have riots at the OT ground. He's a good coach but ego sometimes get in the way more often than not. Credit to Dutch Master. He's taken in a lot of salt from former players and the media. The players are playing with more conviction and self belief, something we didn't see with Gollum.
United can now play 4-4-2,4-3-3 and 4-5-1 with confidence. 3-5-2 remains elusive for now.

MATCH PREVIEW

The last time Manchester United played at Goodison, a publicity stunt 'Grim Reaper' was ejected for hovering close to David Moyes.
That was Moyes' 34th league game in charge of Manchester United, also his last.
This will be Louis van Gaal's 34th Premier League game - and while it's unlikely anybody is going to be waving a scythe at the Dutchman on this particular visit, he appeared a bit spooked during his tetchy Match Of The Day interview last week.

Lawro's prediction
"Manchester United put up a good fight in their defeat by Chelsea last weekend. I would not get carried away by that display in the way some people did, though. I don't remember Blues keeper Thibaut Courtois having too many saves to make."
Predictions: Lawro v snooker star Mark Selby

Van Gaal has enjoyed just two more league victories in his debut season at Old Trafford, and his team has only scored three more league goals, than under Moyes.
The key difference, of course, has been far fewer defeats - roughly half - and that resilience has set the club on target for a return to the Champions League next season.

While the recruitment of Moyes from Everton didn't work out, Marouane Fellaini has risen to the challenge this season. This is his first return to Goodison Park since leaving - the last time he played in this fixture he scored the winning goal for Everton.

Eleven years on from his departure, Wayne Rooney will once again expect ghostly boos from fans who used to adore him.
After recording their best ever Premier League points tally last season, Everton have struggled to match it this campaign.

It is nine years since they last finished outside the top 10. Everton begin this weekend 12th in the table, but unbeaten in five league games. Roberto Martinez will be hoping for a strong finish.
The spirit of Moyes will lurk strongly, watching the two managers who replaced him.
Everton lost 2-1 at Old Trafford in October and Angel Di Maria got one of the goals. The Argentinean hasn't scored a league goal since. Scary stuff.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head
Everton are looking for a third consecutive home win over Manchester United.
United have won on only one of their last six trips to Goodison Park (W1, D2, L3).
United's 2-1 win when the sides met at Old Trafford in October propelled the Red Devils into the top four for the first time in over a year.
Everton have lost 31 Premier League games against Manchester United, four more than against any other opponent.

Everton
Everton are unbeaten in their last five Premier League matches, winning four of them.
The Toffees are unbeaten at home in all competitions in 2015 (W5, D5) and have won their last three Premier League matches at Goodison Park without conceding.

Everton have dropped 19 points from winning positions, more than any other team in the Premier League this season.

They have missed three penalties this season - more than any other top-flight side.
Romelu Lukaku is one of only four players to have scored a Premier League hat-trick versus Manchester United (Dirk Kuyt, David Bentley and Samuel Eto'o the others).

Manchester United
Manchester United's six-game winning run in the Premier League came to an end at Chelsea last weekend.
The Red Devils have won just three of their last nine away league games (D4, L2).
Last week marked a year since David Moyes was sacked as United manager. His dismissal came after a 2-0 defeat at Everton.

Radamel Falcao hasn't managed to fire a single shot on target in his last eight Premier League appearances for Man Utd, despite playing 355 minutes in these games.

Van Gaal lets fly at United after Everton trouncing
Paul Hirst. http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport...um=RSS Feed&utm_campaign=Scottish Sports News
Sunday 26 April 2015

Louis van Gaal accused his Manchester United players of a lack of motivation as they slumped to their heaviest league defeat of his reign at Everton.

United had 65 per cent possession and 17 attempts, but they were unable to break down a compact Everton team, who exposed the visitors' weak defence on the counter.

Van Gaal has rarely criticised his players in the second half of the season, but it was a different story on Sunday.

The United boss said he could tell his team was not up for the fight from their relaxed attitude in the warm-up.

The 3-0 defeat - Everton's biggest over United in 23 years - therefore came as no surprise to the man in the away dugout.

"This is the first match that the other team have shown more fighting spirit than us," Van Gaal said.

"Our motivation, inspiration and aggression was not as high as the opponent.

"I had already the feeling and my colleagues (assistants) Ryan Giggs and Albert Stuivenberg had the feeling because the warm up was not so good as usual.

"In the last minutes before the game you hope you can recover and stimulate your players but then it is too late.

"You have to prepare the match already two or three days before and Everton has done that and they have won because of that.

"When you see the goal after four minutes, three duels in a row we lost and that is an example.

"I hope it shall not happen again but as a coach I know it shall happen again."

An improved showing at the back had enabled United to go to Chelsea last week on the back of six straight wins, but the defence looked like the shaky back line that cost United so badly at the start of the campaign.

McCarthy skipped through weak challenges by Paddy McNair and Daley Blind before slipping the ball between David de Gea's legs to put Everton ahead in the fifth minute.

Stones easily shrugged off his marker Antonio Valencia before rising to nod in Leighton Baines' corner for the second.

And Mirallas killed the game off with 16 minutes to go as the United defence stood like statues waiting for an offside flag that never came.

A fortnight ago United seemed all but certain to qualify for the Champions League, but Liverpool are now seven points behind them and they have a match in hand.

"You give the light to your opponents," Van Gaal said when asked what effect the loss would have on United's Champions League hopes.

Should Wayne Rooney be ruled out for a while with the knee injury he sustained towards the end, United's hopes of finishing in the top four would be further damaged.

"He took a kick to his knee and we have to see if it is heavy or not," Van Gaal said of his captain, who came off in the 88th minute with the problem.

Van Gaal also had to remove another former Everton player at half-time in Marouane Fellaini.

The United boss feared the Belgian, making his first return to Goodison, would be sent off unless he replaced him.

"He was booked and I found that the players of Everton provoke him and I was not so sure if he should end the match," said Van Gaal of the midfielder, who was cautioned for fouling Ross Barkley in the 12th minute

Man Utd fear Wayne Rooney could miss the rest of the season with injury

WAYNE ROONEY is set to be ruled out of Manchester United’s next two matches amid fears he could miss the rest of the season.

he loss of their captain and leading scorer will be a big blow to United’s hopes of holding off arch rivals Liverpool’s challenge for a Champions League place.

Rooney was left limping heavily with a knee injury after colliding with team-mate Ander Herrera during Sunday’s defeat at Everton and it is understood that initial assessments are suggesting he faces a two-week lay-off.

That will rule Rooney out of Saturday’s home clash with West Brom and the following weekend’s trip to Crystal Palace. But if the injury fails to respond to treatment Rooney could also miss the home clash with top-four rivals Arsenal and the final day’s game at Hull.

And that scenario would place a question mark over his involvement in England’s friendly in Ireland on June 7 and the Euro 2016 qualifier in Slovenia the following week.

Heirdryer! Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal gives stars a Fergie-style savaging after Everton defeat
Antonio Valencia and Daley Blind got the worst of it over their defensive lapses at Goodison during Monday tirade at the Reds' Carrington training base

HD.jpg

Louis van Gaal gave his Manchester United flops the hairdryer treatment in a lengthy training ground rant on Monday.

The Dutch boss picked out Antonio Valencia and Daley Blind for special treatment following the 3-0 loss to Everton the previous day.

Manager Van Gaal was livid after the defeat - and was still furious the next day, when the Red Devils' squad gathered at Carrington.

MirrorSport understands Ecuador ace Valencia and Dutch midfielder Blind were subjected to particularly harsh criticism by Van Gaal.

He slammed the pair for tactical naivety and poor defensive displays, which proved costly at Goodison Park as United fell to a second successive league defeat having gone down 1-0 at Chelsea eight days earlier.

Valencia and Blind were both at fault as Everton broke before James McCarthy opened the scoring in the fifth minute.

Then, Valencia failed to pick up John Stones, who was unmarked to head in at a near post corner, and the South American completed a miserable afternoon by stopping to appeal in vain for offside, allowing Kevin Mirallas a clear run on goal for the third.

An upset Valencia also reportedly turned up over two hours late on Monday afternoon to meet competition winners from United’s 'Social Casino' partner.

The players due to attend were Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick and Radamel Falcao, but it was Falcao, Valencia and Victor Valdes who actually appeared.

Valencia was the last to arrive at the function in the Treble Suite and also left quickly, through he did pose for photographs and signed memorabilia.

an Gaal has also gone into battle with the club’s commercial department - and appears to have won after criticising United's last pre-season tour.

A then newly-appointed Van Gaal was unhappy with a gruelling three-week, five-game schedule in America last summer, believing it was too much for his players.

The Dutchman felt he did not have enough time to work with the squad he had inherited from David Moyes as he tried to instill his famed 'philosophy' - and United subsequently made their worst start to a season since 1985.

He made his feelings known to United’s money men and this summer’s US tour is shorter, with four games in just 13 days.

After kicking off against Mexico City side Club America in Seattle on July 17, they play MLS team San Jose Earthquakes four days later and Spanish giants Barcelona at Levi's Stadium near San Francisco on July 25 before the tour finishes against Paris Saint-Germain in Chicago on July 29.

The first three games are on the West Coast and the last in the Mid-West, compared to last summer’s hectic coast-to-coast schedule that began in Los Angeles, then took the squad to Denver, Washington DC, Ann Arbor in Michigan and Miami.

Blind is way too soft and slow for a holding midfielder. We need someone with the built and pace, a terrier much like the Keane or Robson mould. Carrick is the next best person for that role. In terms of priority, it should be a central defender(s), a holding midfielder and a striker.

If they get these players, we're in with a bumper treat next season.

If De Gea wants to leave, let him go. Just use the money wisely. Push the player to commit or sell at the next opportunity.

Liverpool's midweek defeat at Hull certainly reduced the impact of Everton's win but Manchester United will want to cement their place in the top four with a strong finish and accomplish their pre-season mission.
Most of their problems this term have come away from home. The foundation has been at Old Trafford, where the fear factor has returned. They have lost just two Premier League home games, earning 43 points, and are aiming for a seventh successive home league win.

They will be boosted by the news that Wayne Rooney has overcome a knee injury. They've played their best football since their captain switched from midfield to centre-forward in February.
However, for the first time since December 2013, they have failed to score in back-to-back league games.
Tellingly, those successive defeats have come without the protection offered by Michael Carrick. United have lost just one of the 17 matches he has started this season.

Four points from the last six available has been a welcome return for West Brom after three straight defeats. What will add to the pleasure for Tony Pulis is they've also kept successive clean sheets.
They can safely look forward to more stability and a sixth successive season in the top flight.
One of Pulis' first acts when he took over was to sign Darren Fletcher and immediately install him as his captain. It will be an emotional first return for the Scottish international to the club where he won four league titles and a Champions League, and also received huge support off the field during his successful battle with illness.

He will know more than most to be aware of a positive Manchester United response.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head
West Brom's win at Old Trafford last season is their only victory in the last 21 league meetings (D4, L16).
The Baggies last claimed successive league wins at Old Trafford between 1958 and 1959, when they won three consecutive games there.

Manchester United
United's tally of 40 goals at home is the highest in the Premier League. They have scored at least three times in seven of their last nine home league games.
Defeat would see them lose three successive top-flight matches for the first time since November-December 2001.

The last time they failed to score in three successive league games was between May and August 2007.
The Red Devils have won their last six home league games. It is their best run since a 12-match streak between October 2012 and March 2013.
Wayne Rooney has scored 15 goals in his last 16 Premier League appearances at Old Trafford, compared to one in 17 away from home.

West Brom
West Brom have scored 11 Premier League away goals this term - fewer than any other side.
The Baggies could win back-to-back Premier League away games for the first time since November 2012.
Only three of Saido Berahino's 18 league and cup goals this season have been scored away from home.

Manchester United to use Adnan Januzaj in bid to land World Cup star?
By talkSPORT (@talkSPORT) | Sunday, May 3, 2015

Manchester United are ready to use Adnan Januzaj in their bid to land PSV star Memphis Depay

The Red Devils are open to the idea of sending the Beligan flyer on a year-long loan deal to the Dutch giants.

Depay has been linked with a move to Louis van Gaal's side in the summer, and has also attracted the attentions of Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.

However United believe Januzaj may be the key to sealing a £25m deal for the man who shone at the World Cup while playing for Holland.

PSV Eindhoven sporting director Marcel Brands said: “If such a player like Adnan Januzaj would like to come and play Champions League football, you have a chance of making a temporary move.”

Januzaj has made just eight starts under Van Gaal this season.

Staying or going? :p

Is David De Gea ready to extend his Manchester United contract?

http://www.espnfcasia.com/blog/tran...e-gea-ready-to-extend-his-man-united-contract

Rumours have swirled for months that David De Gea will leave Manchester to return home to Madrid.
The rumours are gaining momentum and, in many instances, credibility. Transfer Talk has the latest news as the summer window nears...

De Gea to opt for Old Trafford stay
Will he stay or will he go? That's the great unanswered question regarding David De Gea's future, though the Sun is reporting that the Manchester United goalkeeper is ready to snub a summer move to Real Madrid and instead sign a new two-year contract extension at Old Trafford.

United are desperate to hang onto the Spanish shot-stopper after two stellar seasons guarding the goal, and the paper suggests that the 24-year-old will opt against a return to Madrid for now and instead commit his short-term future to United for a cool £200,000-a-week.

Such a deal would, of course, leave us in exactly the same situation next year regarding speculation over his future, but a short-term deal would ensure United receive a fee and recoup some of their investment rather than see the keeper leave on a free transfer in 2016.

That would also give Iker Casillas ample time to plan his future away from the Bernabeu -- a decent move for both sides should Carlo Ancelotti want to stick with Spain's No. 1 for another year.

In further Manchester United goalkeeping news, the Mail reports that the club are close to sealing a deal for 16-year-old Standard Liege shot-stopper Ilias Moutha Sebtaoui.

According to the paper, the youngster has impressed Red Devils scouts in recent tournaments, and United could fast track a move that would see Sebtaoui arrive in July 1. Louis van Gaal may face competition from Roma, Anderlecht and Newcastle, though the lure of developing with United could prove to be key.

Ashley Young to sign new three-year deal at Manchester United as Louis van Gaal rewards winger for fine form

Ashley Young to be handed new three-year contract at end of the season.
Winger has been one of few bright sparks under Louis van Gaal
Young has even displaced Angel di Maria in the Manchester United team
29-year-old hasn't given up on earning England recall this summer

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...l-rewards-winger-fine-form.html#ixzz3ZDnb3o3m

Ashley Young will sign a new three-year contract to remain a Manchester United player this summer.
The United winger has been one of the few successes under Louis van Gaal this season and he will sign the deal to remain at Old Trafford at the end of the season.

Young’s future had been in doubt when Van Gaal first arrived at the club last summer, but he has won over the Dutch coach by playing in a number of different positions for United.

The winger earns £120,000 a week at Old Trafford and his new contract at the club will be on similar terms.
Young turns 30 in July and wants to see out his playing career at United as he prepares to finish his fourth season at the club.
He also has ambitions to reclaim his place in Roy Hodgson’s England squad and has not given up hope of a recall this summer.

England travel to Dublin to play the Republic of Ireland on June 7 before heading to Slovenia seven days later for a Euro 2016 qualifier. Young has not played for England since a clash with Ukraine in September 2013, but Hodgson is continuing to monitor his form ahead of his squad announcement later this month.

Man United preparing cash-plus-player bid for Tottenham talisman

According to reports from The Telegraph and The Metro, Manchester United are preparing a cash-plus-player bid for Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.Â

The Spurs No.1 has been in fantastic form this season to make the most saves, 82, of any goalkeeper in the Premier League’s top six. Now 28 years of age and skipper of the France national team, however, there’s been plenty of talk of him leaving White Hart Lane for Champions League football this summer – as claimed by The Guardian last month.

FootballRoar revealed last week that Spurs are attempting to nullify interest in Lloris by lumping the former Lyon man with a £40million price-tag. Manchester United are considered to be his leading suitors, viewing the Frenchman as the ideal replacement for Real Madrid-linked No.1 David De Gea.

And The Telegraph now claim the Red Devils have come up with an inventive solution; they’ll offer £25million plus Victor Valdes in exchange for Lloris this summer.

The Spain international is yet to make a Premier League appearance for Manchester United since signing for them in October after several months without a club, but he won six La Liga titles, three Champions League titles, five Zamora trophies and two La Liga Goalkeeper of the Year awards during his decade as Barcelona’s first choice goalkeeper.
