Since none of those was on board is of any real significance and given the fact that they're now all as dead as doornails, why is mankind wasting such a vast amount of resources to find the plane?

That is the beauty of mankind. Conflicts in every corner of the World, yet they come together to help those in need, significance or otherwise.

That would not have happened if Singapore called the shots. We would decide the costs outstrips the benefits and send the search team home after a guided tour at Gardens by the Bay.

That is their entire operational fleet the rests are in dry docks, awaiting for parts, none operational due to rusting old components. Don't worry, judging from the announcement that they did send fighter jets to check after 32 days of missing, I'm sure the rest will show up once the black box is found.
How come Malaysia only provided 2ships and 1 aircraft?they should be deploying the entire air force and navy.

That would be the correct decision to take. Why waste time and money looking for dead, insignificant people?
