What about employers who deduct "lodging fees" fm employee salaries when employees are housed in the boss private investment home? Is this private arrangement an offence?

This news is nothing new. All sinkies know these companies owned mostly by FTsh have been making fools of MOM and ICA for donkey years.

Funnily, only pappies do not seem to know. If pappies let FTsh to continue in such malpractices, sinkie land will be another cowboy town where anything can do. Scrap the Employment Act. You do not need control in cowboy town.

If pappies want to enforce Employment Act, deport the FTsh owners for violating it and also cancel the work permits of the conniving FTsh employees. If it is only wayang and opera to show token action taken, such malpractice will never stop.

So, is this the reason why many locals are not considered by FTsh owned companies when they need a job? MOM and ICA need to brainstorm to screw all these FTsh owned companies. Screw them hard like they screw the jobless sinkies.

Cheating the Govt is said to be a serious offence. Are these FTsh owned company directors and partners charged for violating under the Employment Act considered for severe punishment? Are pappies really serious about stopping such malpractices or are they just Punch and Judy Show?

If they are serious about preventing the abuse it is very simple. Just make it a caning offense.

Last time if you hired an illegal the penalty could be caning for those who did the hiring, I used to work for a company that would have hired illegals except that no one wanted to be caned. That's what the GM told me:biggrin:
