i have 3 policies, thinking of taking away one.

The types of critical illnesses covered should have been clearly spelt out in your policy documents. My Prudential critical illness policy spells out very clearly the types and stages of critical illnesses that it would pay and not pay.

TPD, TI and Death are standard for most insurance policies. You need to pay additional premium for critical illnesses coverage.

You should not take away the Private Medishield Insurance, such as PruShield from Prudential, for example. Hospital bills can make you go bankrupt. It is even better if you can afford to take up a rider (such as PruShield Extra) on top of your Private Medishield policy that will cover you for the 10% co-insurance and 50%/100% of the deductible.

You should also not take away your long-term care (Eldershield) insurance, such as Aviva's MyCare Plus policy. Nowadays, strokes are all too common. Having a steady monthly income from your long-term care insurance goes a long way both for you and your family members.
