Wow so much savings, if only Amazon can have the 220v type will be very good...

If you are on a tight budget or are cheap like me, buying directly from the US will save you $. Just remember to factor in the price of a voltage convertor 220V to 120v which you can find in places like Sim Lim Sq.

Getting a Honeywell will cost from eBay will cost about SIN$297(with shipping). In Spore the price of a Honeywell that will run on 220V probably be about $475 go take a look at http://www.mjhub.biz/?s=honeywell&post_type=product

As a consumer you have the option to decide:smile:

I bought the Honeywell 50250 with 2 boxes of extra pre-filters for SIN$408.73. It shipped to my door within about 2 weeks

In the US they have a better selection of cheaper air purifiers. They have brands like Winix, Whirlpool, Holmes, Coway,...etc The US prices are reasonable. Unfortunately they don't ship overseas & you have to use a freight forwarding company. The international shipping cost of shipping can cost as much as the units themselves

I was in the area of the company Lioncity which is in Geylang, they seem to operate like Goh Ah Bee. Anyway I ordered a Sharp Air Purifier FUA80E for $499.
This one http://www.lioncityco.com/product_info.php?products_id=2253

For those wondering what the difference is between this model and the Sharp Air Purifier FUA80E-W found here http://www.lioncityco.com/product_info.php?products_id=4121. These 2 models are the same. Seems like the web page developers were confused so they put it down as 2 models.

Suspect that the Sharp model I ordered is similar to the US model described here:
http://www.air-purifier-power.com/sharpplasmaclusterfpa80ureview.html

The reason I decided to get the Sharp is because it is supposed to run quieter. My parents are at home most of the time & I expect to keep the unit running in the background.

Sounds good, noticed the max airflow rate of 480 is almost double mine of 250..

This model is quite large & has more capacity than I really need for the small room I plan to use it in, but since it is smart it should only be active when required. Hopefully it will last longer because of the lower wear & tear.

I did asked about the Honeywells but they are out of stock. This time around more people will be prepared for the haze:smile:

I have been monitoring the psi10 and psi2.5 almost daily because i have sensitive nose. The psi2.5 is perpetually above 50 daily, shooting up to 70+ at times. AQI state is as a yellow status, while the dicks in NEA hold it at green. Bastards!

i used to have one in the room.
when you fart, the sensor really detected an odour and the fan run full speed on a few minutes before return back to slow speed.
after some time, the replacement filter is expensive to maintenance.

same like the printer is cheap, but the cartridges cost a bomb.

PAP can spend your CPF money to stop rain on NDP day but no money to buy chemicals to bring rain?

When haze is here profits for TH and GDP growth for Singapore? Don't complain.
