The Case of the Missing PAP MPs
The Copyright (Amendment) Bill was tabled in Parliament yesterday but could not be passed because of a lack of quorum.
A quorum is defined as one quarter of the total of 87 elected MPs i.e. 22 MPs.
Assuming the 7 Workers' Party MPs supported the Bill, you only needed 15 out of 80 PAP MPs to be present.
Yet, yesterday, in a most appalling development, the House had trouble finding enough PAP MPs to meet the quorum.
What were the absentee PAP MPs doing? Busy taking selfies, promoting themselves on Facebook or thinking of ways to fix the Workers' Party?
Most importantly, what was Lee Hsien Loong doing as a leader of his Party if he cannot get even a quarter of his MPs to attend Parliament?
Police have found a dead body of a man in his 50s at a carpark along Pasir Ris Close, across from Downtown East recreational hub on Tuesday morning.
The police received a call for assistance at the location at 5:58am and subsequently found the body beside a Silver Cab taxi, which belongs to the deceased.
Police are investigating the unnatural death.

SINGAPORE: Singapore Airlines (SIA) on Saturday (July 19) apologised for its social media postings following the crash of Malaysia Airlines MH17.
“We are aware that our Facebook and Twitter update on Friday morning may have come across as insensitive to some,” an SIA spokesperson said in reply to queries from Channel NewsAsia. The post was in response to requests from customers who had asked for information about the airline’s flight routes, the spokesperson said in a statement.
“We recognise that the information could have been better communicated and we sincerely apologise if it had offended our customers and anyone else in the online community,” the statement said.
It added that SIA is “deeply saddened” by what happened to flight MH17. “Our thoughts remain with the families and loved ones of the passengers and crew who perished on board.”
Following the MH17 crash, SIA had posted on Facebook and Twitter a single-sentence message which said: “Customers may wish to note that Singapore Airlines flights are not using Ukraine airspace”. It posted another message an hour later, which said: “Our thoughts are with the passengers and crew of MH17 and their families.”
