Japan PM Shinzo Abe visits Yasukuni WW2 shrine

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has visited a controversial shrine to World War Two dead, exactly one year after he took office.

Mr Abe said his visit to Yasukuni was "to pledge and determine that never again will people suffer in war".

He said it was "not intended to hurt the Chinese or South Koreans".

But a Chinese foreign ministry official was quick to denounce the visit as "absolutely unacceptable to the Chinese people".

Yasukuni honours several convicted Japanese war criminals. Beijing and Seoul see it as a symbol of Tokyo's war-time aggression.

This is the first visit to Yasukuni by a serving prime minister since 2006.

Most Asean leaders will condemn any japanese leaders visit to Yasukuni deep in their hearts. Their condemn will turn more vocal when S-Korea economy becomes larger than Japan.

Don't need to wait ,just do your part.I have not bought any japanese goods since I started to work more than 20 years ago.If you buy their goods , u r making them rich to be arrogant!In Germany if u talk anything about Hitler or the WWII you will be jailed and Germany moved on with their neighbors!

China and South Korea strongly condemn abe's yasukuni shrine visit. Our ex.president Nathan and current MM worked for Jap during occupation, doubt govt has any guts to raise issue.

Nope PRC did not try to rammed US ship cowpen, just blocking it way, it cut across and stop, exposing it port side for US cowpen.

The captain is smart enough to steer clear of the transport ship, none of them want war, neither US or China, as Xi did tell Biden, US are not our direct enemy, we have our beef with Japan and it will be different.

As ex employees of the Japanese Army during WW2, Prataman and Con YOu were invited to come along. However, Prataman could not fit into his Japanese Army uniform anymore, and Con You's Japanese is half past 6 now. So, both declined invite.
