At the rate things are going, the ruling party is facing an uphill task. As they have received credit for things going well even though it wasn't their work (Sg's progress over the last decades), they by the same virtue will also be taking the blame for things going the other way (stagnating living standards, increasing living costs). If even a halfway decent team is fielded against them, there is a chance PAP might lose. Lucky for them their pay is high right now. In their shoes, I'd make hay while the sun shines.
