I personally don't think the values of HDBs and condos in Woodlands will go down once the RTS is built. URA is looking to transform Woodlands into a Regional centre, much like Paya Lebar. Hence, there will be many companies moving out of the city centre into these Regional centres in the 10 years as Grade A office rents continue to climb. With an increase in commercial activities in Woodlands, I would not be surprised if the Woodlands condos move up to S$1500 as I previously purported.

mmm...even if the regional centre comes about, people can still live in Iskandar and take RTS to work there. another issue is how soon the regional centre takes off...faster or slower than RTS. If slower, people would hv shifted to Iskandar.

In any case, the price differential between Woodlands and JBCC should narrow in the future. Let's see how it goes in the next 10 years. It would be a dream come true (at least for me) to see JBCC condo prices match up to Woodlands condos

whats so iconic about building 100 or 200 storeys ?

Those buildings on the Singapore side should rejoice instead! Last time Malaysia view don't worth a cent... in a decade the Malaysia view HDBs and condos or commercials will cost a premium

Of course it'll be iconic...even Petronas cannot fight.

I just hope the design is good...don't create an ugly mass of concrete like that monstrosity of a tower in Pyongyang!

This situation could happen if the RM rise like crazy or the SGD drop like mad, which you prefer??

Peter Lim-linked firm to develop healthcare city in Iskandar

The Vantage Bay project, originally a mixed-used lifestyle township, will be reconceptualised to a healthcare city comprising a medical hub, a healthcare education hub and a wellness hub, Rowsley says.

With this redevelopment, does that mean Vantage Bay may no longer be a major skyscraper liao? Should be gd news for R&F though.....

They're not going to compete directly with R&F
That's a lost cause with both sides loosing in the end.
Smart play.

Peter Lim had discovered that projects like Country Garden and Princess Cove, all in the neighborhood, are still struggling to sell their remaining units after 2 years in the market decided that high-end high-rise residential / commercial development is already way over supplied.

Guess it could be the location. Danga Bay & those near CIQ woodlands are places we investors and foreign expats avoid.

Puteri Harbour area crowd is so much different.

Definitely a very good news for Princess Cove project. Good for retirement. For those who criticised and slandered PC in the past, will have to eat their words humbly.....

The proposed Vantage Bay project, which is just opposite the Princess Cove, was originally planned as a mega commercial / residential development.
But due to the lackluster sales at Princess Cove and Country Garden, this development became still born after much delay and being "redeveloped" into a hospital / healthcare centre.
Again, ultimately will this redesigned development takes off is still too early to tell.

You are so wrong. Danga Bay is the area that investors especially singaporeans love to stay.
