Another five nabbed over killer guard case
PETALING JAYA: Five more men – all with fake MyKads – have been arrested in connection with the killing of a bank officer last week by a guard, Selangor deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Abdul Rahim Jaafar said.
The men, all foreigners aged between 30 and 50, were detained on Sunday following raids in Subang Jaya.
DCP Abdul Rahim said the latest arrests brought the total number of those detained over the case to 10 people, adding that it was alarming as most of them had fake MyKads.
Those arrested are the suspect’s family members and friends. We believe they are Indonesians. We will investigate how they obtained the fake MyKads,” he said.
Police, said DCP Abdul Rahim, were also monitoring a Facebook page, purportedly belonging to the suspect.
According to the information displayed on the page, the Facebook owner, a man believed to be the suspect, lives in Petaling Jaya and works in an international courier company.
As at 2pm yesterday, the Facebook page link had been shared over 100 times.
