A crew coordinator got into an argument with an elderly cabby at a petrol station after his car was blocked by the taxi. Mohammed Faizal Hassan pushed the 71-year-old in the chest, causing him to fall backwards and to hit his head against a car bumper.
The 27-year-old motorist was jailed for 10 days on Thursday after pleading guilty last month to using criminal force on Mr Ho Wah Kiat.
Court papers state that both men were both at a petrol station along Bukit Timah Road at about 3pm on June 18 last year. The cabby was trying to reverse his taxi to the air pump area and was blocking the exit.
Mohammed Faizal sounded his horn and they started arguing. Police were summoned and he admitted pushing Mr Ho because the cabby had swore profanities at him. The court heard that the cabby suffered mild spasms of the neck and was awarded 10 days of medical leave.
