If you have to dine at a coffeeshop, avoid buying drinks from the drinks stall. Besides the insanely marked up prices, most drinks stalls are usually owned by the coffeeshop owner as it is typically the most lucrative.

Sometimes the coffeeshop owner may also own the zi char stall, which sometimes occupies a disproportionately large floor space. Watch out for excessively flashy signboards etc.
