Man arrested for housebreaking in Yishun

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 31-year-old man for thefts in Yishun.
On Feb 13, 2013, a 52-year-old occupant of a HBD unit situated along Yishun Street 71 reported that his family found their hand phones, cash and other valuables valued at about $700 missing from the unit. There were no signs of any break-ins at the said unit.
With the aid of the neighbourhood CCTVs fitted in the estate, the officers tracked down a suspect.
On April 9, 2013 at about 11.30am, the suspect was arrested at his residence along Yishun Street 71.
He was believed to be involved in a similar case of theft in the same estate in Dec 2012. Upon his arrest, two stolen handphones were recovered from his possession.
The suspect will be charged in court on April 11 for the offence housebreaking and theft by night which carries a maximum of 14 years imprisonment with caning.
