Now no goverment, so consider under martial law ?

You must be stupid to equate the govt and the law.

Parliament and govt is dissolved means cannot pass new laws. But current laws are still in effect.

Civil servants still exists to run the country.

Ah Jib finally dissolves Parliament in Mudland

The prime minister finally announced the dissolution of Parliament today, paving the way for the much awaited 13th general election.

Speaking on national television TV1 at 11.30am, Datuk Seri Najib Razak said he received Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah's consent for the dissolution at Istana Negara earlier in the day.

"I have sought an audience with the King and the King has consented to the dissolution of the 12th Parliament on April 3 in accordance to the Federal Constitution. With this I urge all state leaders to seek an audience with the respective rulers to obtain their consent to do the same to facilitate simultaneous elections.

"Today, four years ago on April 3, 2009, I took an oath to shoulder the responsibility (of leading the country) and during that time, the deputy prime minister, the cabinet ministers and I have executed changes based on the 1Malaysia concept and the National Transformation Policy. We have witnessed that over these four years, Malaysians have prospered under these policies," said Najib in his speech.

The legislative assemblies of all states, except Sarawak, are also dissolved to facilitate simultaneous elections.

The Election Commission is expected to make an announcement later today on when it will be meeting to decide the dates for nomination and polling.

Malaysian Prime Minister leads his cabinet and 10,000 cyclists on bike ride

http://road.cc/content/news/80079-m...eads-his-cabinet-and-10000-cyclists-bike-ride

Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, has spent his final day in office ahead of a forthcoming general election leading thousands of his fellow citizens on a 12-kilometre bike ride, the 1Malaysia Patriotic Cycle, in Putrajaya, 25 kilometres south of capital city Kuala Lumpur.

Najib, who was joined by his wife and members of his cabinet in the 45-minute ride, which took in Putrajaya boulevard and Putrajaya lake and was expected to attract 10,000 cyclists, used the occasion to reflect on his latest four-year term in a speech to riders after the event, reports The Star.

"I am thankful, honoured and humbled to have bore this responsibility, to offer my service according to the best of my ability,” he said. "Together with the Cabinet and the civil servant teams, we are determined to take Malaysia to a greater height.

"If we are given a mandate for another five years, we will carry on this journey to the very end in Putrajaya," he added.

The city holds mass cycle events on the third Sunday of each month, and while attending one of those last month the prime minister told 15,000 attendees that exercise such as cycling had an important role to play in countering unwanted effects of the country’s rapid economic progress such as obesity and diabetes.

Notwithstanding that, no bike ride would be complete without cake, and after today’s event, which took place on the fourth anniversary of his current term beginning, Najib was presented with one to mark the occasion, as well as a framed photograph of the cyclists outside his official residence.

Whether voters will ask him to saddle up for another term or get on his bike remains to be seen.

Dr Chua Soi Lek, president of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA), will not contest the upcoming general election to allow for new leaders to emerge to keep the party relevant.

"The coming 13th general election is a mother of all elections and the party has assembled a credible team of candidates," he said in a statement on Thursday.

Nearly half the MCA's candidates will be fresh faces, he said.

The MCA, a senior partner in the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition, will face a hard fight by the opposition Pakatan Rakyat in the battle for Chinese votes. The MCA contested 40 parliamentary seats in the 2008 general election but won only 15.

"I will be leading the charge in the election campaign running up to the polls but will not be offering myself as a candidate," said Dr Chua, who had resigned as a Cabinet Minister and did not contest the 2008 polls after being secretly filmed in a sex video.

There was speculation earlier that he might make a comeback to contest this election.
