The white paper doesn't address this issue on water and energy, two key resources every economy need. Water and electricity are already one of the highest in the world, will it become the highest in the world in 2030 thanks to the 7 million people, where 3.5 million of them will be foreigners?

Except that you need lots of energy to turn sea water to drinking water. So, the price of water will be like the price of petrol?
Water Distillation technology will improve over the years, but it will still not come cheap.
Recycle water is a cheaper option.

I haven't heard of other countries using new water. Has there been any long term studies carried out in Spore to verify if it is safe or are we just guinea pigs. Is this another "stop at two" problem that is going to come back to haunt us ?
I often purchase distilled water from NTUC to use to brewing Essiac tea. I notice that the cheap house brand of distilled bottled water is imported from Malaysia.
Given that NTUC is very profit minded, does this mean that the cost of producing distilled water is cheaper in Malaysia than it is producing it in Spore
