Most people are rationale. The difference is in the agendas.

People without the agenda are the majority and will check the minority. That's the difference between RP and SDP.

SDP's lowest points were during his protest sagas and the recent episode. People will not join or will leave. Because they acted wise, they now have a bumper crop of candidates.

RP has never changed, so people keep leaving until the minority are left.

KJ has as much chance of winning as a mei mei has of being aids free after working in geyland - ie zero.

I hope he doesnt lose his deposit and puts in a decent performance, he is one oppo politician who will enrich singapore politics.

Hopefully he can masuk after GE 2016 at least.

I can't imagine why anyone would feel disgusted. A lump of lard tends to either move slowly or not at all. Hence, it can't possibly go MIA. hahaha

WP performance has not be impressive after 2011. Getting into their comfort zone.

They need to realize that people want an opposition and does not necessarily refer to them as their only choice.

Yes, WP fielded at last PE and won quiet a bit fo margin but it was because of ground swell to vote for any opposition party even if they put a monkey or donkey face in WP will win votes.

LLL is not good enough and Opposition need someone good at mathematic to take on LHL on par. KJ fit the porfolio and should be given a head start.

LKT is a teochew man kah ki lang type but no good enough to take on LHL maths on finance. Put KJ in and Chen can match his maths wiz also and both can take on LHL finance mathematic skills and make LHL pee in his pant.

Oppo need a right dose this time and not just someone to say I'll take care of the constituency alone like a plumber going round fixing water pipe leaks.

Opposition needed to scrutinze figures of MAS, GLC and TH and your CPF money. Time to raise the bar perhaps.

KJ is the right perosn at the moment and if he gets in more professionals like him will dare to come out and next GE will see more interesting oppo candidates setting a new standards for Oppositon parties and also PAP scrapping their bottom barrel to do the same.

I think the voters are generally educated lots with plenty of qualifications and soon some professional driving taxis might join next GE after seeing changes in voters pattern for candidates.

Ah! one more interesting thing, KJ brother is working for PAPig in law industry and if his brother win this elder borther of his has to address KJ as 'Sir'. Then his brohter may join him next GE setting new standard Opp candidates for GE 2016.

Ah! also PAP raised their bars saying their candidates are CEO qualities and should be paid obscene salary. Pay a PM $3M a year and PAP claimed their PM is of CEO quality tok kong in finance maths.

Lai Lor来吗! time for oppo to match this PM CEO quality and put KJ in and see that for $15,000 a month MP pay is enough to get same CEO tok kong quality standard finance people matching LHL finance skill.

No point talking about this in a MCF situation. It tactical voting for the candidate with the best chance. Anything other than this is a sheer waste of ammo.

Agree. People need someone good in mathematics to teach them 1, 2, 3, because they counted/estimated wrongly and gave Big Headed KJ 33% in GE2011 instead of 66%

Btw how many % did not-good-enough LLL got again? I'm sure if LLL got more then it's due to counting/mathematics problem, which incidentally Big Headed KJ can help.

Since 2011 RP only brought up one issue that WP did not bring up.

I'll ignore the fact that WP brought up 20-40 issues more than RP.

Agree. What can kj do when he has to operate under tons of unseen restrictions as opposition mp? Can he get the civil servants to provide straight answers? Talk now is easy. Doing is much harder than one thinks.

The Opposition is in the state it is because there is no clarity in its objectives and no perseverance and focus in achieving its objectives. It always gets side-tracked. But you are neither PAP nor Opposition so I don't blame you.

LKY does not have political experience to start with, he was a criminal lawyer, a profession but given a head start.

People give him a chance, a head start to enter politic and people/ voters elected to chose him as leader not there to fix water pipe leaks. They want him to 作大事。

The story today does not change. To get KJ in is same as voters get LKY in. The massive CPF money has been tranferred to TH, GLC as investment loans. TH is an investment vehicle of GIC which borrowed money from the country sovereign funds.

Oppo need to rasie their bar higher to meet today's complex TH, GLC and MAS financial maths like IMF loan and etc. It is not a common Ah Long shark loan but complex GIC loan to TH and IMF and the like.

Perhaps Chee was right to write to WP about raising the bar. Why put an auntie there to be like contractor to fix water pipe leaks which can be done by town council civil servants. WP is good at fixing water pipe leaks only? Hello! get a contractor from the Causeway (300,000 crossed daily to Singapore to find work) to fix water pipe leak. Was WP voted into parliament to 作大事 or to 办小事.

On another point, voters certainly do not need an over qualified, over rated and over achiever of certain profession, like medical which is a specific trade, to be your MP. Trade people are good at certain job they choose to get in, unless this doctor offers free arse-check clinic then worth to vote him. He is likely to fall asleep or siam the debate or act blur or be 'yes' am in parliament sitting if the debate is not a medical topic.

If WP stand down in this BE, they may lose the depoist but chap si cheng $14,000 is only 1 month MP pay which WP can afford to lose.

Anyway, this kind of voting stragtegy required quality voters to think and not Ah beng abd Ah Lain type from across Causeway with Form 5 education turn S citizens to vote wisely.

People of my father's age (he'd have been 90 if he'd lived) tell me that they did elect the PAPzis to get the basics fixed. And in the early days, the PAPzis delivered beyond expectations. The PAPzis were exceptionally good at something else - to link the nitty gritty town council business to the bigger picture of independence and other 'bigger' policies.

In the last GE, the WP began to do that - to link running a town council well with a 'world class parliament.' And while some might think otherwise, it is useful to note that WP MPs have asked more than 1000 questions in parliament since 2011. Of course, the presstapo have not featured them.
