Example - Scheduling a Group of Files

Asumming you want to use Noticeboard and keep it simple and flexible. You have a group of mixed media files with some pictures and videos, you like to have the flexibility to remove or add them later.

So, all you need is to create a folder, move these files into it. Setup a Noticeboard group and enter the region of the screen you like these files to display to and enter the folder name that contain these files.

That's it. When you play it, it will pick up the files and schedule to display it one after another.

In this example, besides the mixed media files, we also include 2 noticeboard files.

Let's get started by creating the group project.

folder2.jpg

1. When you add the group, enter the region of the screen that these files should be displayed in. Note, all media files will be scaled and centralised within this rectangle region.

2. Check off the interval in the Schedule tab to repeat it forever.

3. Enter an ImageTime, this is the display time for the image to show on screen. For movie, it plays from the beginning to the end. I f you like to only play part of the movie, then you have to create a ntb video project, specify the starting and ending and place this ntb file into the folder, and move this movie out from that folder.

4. If you have just media files, you can omit the AlignToRectangle field. This field is to align all your ntb project files and centralised it.

Let's go back to the 2 noticeboard file. There are many reasons we need these.

1. We like to include some text and graphic for our image, therefore we have to create a simple Window project to insert these texts and graphics.

2. We like to include some animation on top of the picture.

3. We have some pictures and like to show it together.

etc...

Note, all these files are played sequentially one at a time. If you have another area of the screen that you like to display, you can setup another group project pointing to a different folder or some other Window projects. This can be added to the original Group ntb file under a separate cluster.
