The Workers’ Party Youth Wing is excited to present 'SG100'.
As Singapore celebrates her golden jubilee, the Workers' Party Youth Wing calls on fellow young Singaporeans to share their dreams and aspirations for the next 50 years. We hope to create a forum for conversation on alternate paths for Singapore -- to paint a shared vision and provide inspiration to shaping Singapore’s future. Ideas gathered will be shared during the WPYW Conference held on 22 August 2015 and subsequently published in a post-conference book.
We will continue to unveil further details on our Facebook page, so do make sure that you 'Like' our page to stay updated.
Together, we can build a nation that we can be proud of calling home for generations to come.

As Singapore celebrates her golden jubilee, the Workers' Party Youth Wing calls on young Singaporeans to submit essays on their aspirations for Singapore's next 50 years.
We are inviting you to share your personal visions for Singapore's development, and suggestions on how we might be able to get there. It can be as broad or as specific as you like -- and be on any topic of your choosing -- but it should act as a catalyst for deeper discussion on the Singapore you want in 2065, and provide a brief roadmap for it.
We will select papers that spark critical thought around the future Singapore that we should work towards. Authors will present the selected papers as the starting point for panel discussions during the WPYW Conference on 22 August 2015. The Conference will be open to the public and aims to engage with youth on Singapore's journey ahead.

I am disappointed with the verdict of Neo Gim Huah, who was jailed 3 weeks for voluntarily causing hurt against 16 year old Amos Yee. This is what Neo Gim Huah said of his actions in Court today:
“I remember how arrogant he was…That’s why I thought by giving him one slap would instill fear in him, and also let him know what are the ways of the world.”
“Neo had said that he had intentionally hit Yee in the presence of the media as he “wanted the assault to be publicised so that the world at large would know that (Yee) was being taught a lesson”

This is clearly not only one charge of voluntarily causing hurt. By his own admission in Court, there are two other valid charges against Neo Gim Huah:
1) An attempted criminal intimidation to make Amos Yee plead guilty
2) A subjudice contempt of court to influence Court’s judgment on an ongoing trial

Clearly this piece of "chicken shit" Neo Gim Huah's slapping of Amos is pre-mediated and was jailed only for 3 weeks.
It is just a slap on the wrist compare that of a man who spits at Woodlands Bus Interchange and got 5 weeks in jail and fine $800.
Prosecution should appeal and ask for a heavier sentence. Otherwise Neo's sentence is making a mockery of the law.

The charge of disorderly behaviour, which was initially stood down, was taken into consideration.

The interview is a must-see, for understanding the direction of how at least one half of our Leviathan is trying to move towards, which is not bad at all. Our state is in two minds, maybe three, and here is the much better one of the lot.

This I find too much of a simplistic caricature of the Singapore model versus the decadent West. Government for the people versus government of the people.
Sometimes active government support for personal responsibility is wiser, sometimes active government to take over personal responsibility is required, paradoxically, for the personal responsibility to be realised.
Only a government by the people can tell us when's what, not even the esteemed DPM.

With the sad saga of the WP’s running of the AHPETC where it would seem ONLY the FMSS – AHPTEC’s Managing Agent, whose shareholders had been nominators and seconders of WP candidates in the GE – is LAUGHING ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK – at least the WP/AHPETC has not shown otherwise nor has WP/FMSS been open nor transparent & also in view of the fact that FMSS was only set up before being appointed
