Election fever! I thought I'd share some photos from yesterday, when I went along to witness the destruction of the ballot boxes from last September's General Election. The process is kept completely transparent and secure to ensure the integrity of our electoral process and that all votes are secret.

The boxes are transported from counting centres down to a vault in the Supreme Court, where they are kept under lock and key for 6 months before being destroyed. Candidates were invited to follow the process, which is a rather large logistic challenge. Kudos and thanks for the efficiency and professionalism from Election Department officials and the staff at Tuas South Incineration Plant, and for explaining the whole process to us and answering any questions we had!
