But, why is he having so little faith on his comrades’ characters, that everybody can be so easily demoralised if he were ever dare to entangle with the PAP? Where is their commitment, devotion and dedication to the party and the people if they can be so easily demoralised, discouraged and disinterested?

CSJ has already shown that civil disobedience doesn't work here in Singapore, and is not appreciated by the population. The polling results have shown that Singaporeans generally prefer an opposition that oppose moderately and rationally. Can't really fault the WP for giving Singaporeans what they want.

Civil disobedience works best in countries where the government is not elected and put in place by force. Mandela, Gandhi, Martin Luther King fought against "white-skin" colonial masters. Aung San Suu Kyi against a military government that loses an elections and pretends it never happened.

For Chee, he self-imagines that Singapore is along those lines and works along those lines, that's it. Like how GMS imagines WP has already taken over the government and borrowing an article is plagiarism. Many opposition chiefs are quite good at fabrications and imaginations. They should use their creativity elsewhere where they can be more productive.

An Opposition is not an Opposition if it refuses to “entangle” and engage with the ruling party while chickening and AWOL from them on almost every issues.


Moderate Opposition is neither Zero Opposition nor Invisible Opposition nor AWOL Opposition. It is definitely not Vichy Opposition.

If you do not want anything to change, just go on a head-on clash with PAP, whether in parliament or outside of parliament. Because with the lob sided representation in parliament, the only way things can be changed is to have PAP's cooperation. A direct confrontation will get PAP very defensive and blow away any chance of change. PAP needs a lot of face-saving. Only non-MP material will think otherwise.

That said, WP should stop congratulating PAP for good work done, even if it is good work done, because PAP has been forced into it.
