    *Cab Ride *

    * *
    *Twenty years ago, I drove a cab for a living.*

    * *
    *When I arrived at 2:30 a.m., the building was dark except*
    *for a single light in a ground floor window. Under these*
    *circumstances, many drivers would just honk once or twice, wait a*
    *minute, then drive away.*

    * *
    *But, I had seen too many impoverished people who depended on*
    *taxis as their only means of transportation. Unless a situation
    smelled of*
    *danger, I always went to the door. This passenger might be someone
    who*
    *needs my assistance, I reasoned to myself.*

    * *
    *So I walked to the door and knocked. "Just a minute", answered a
    frail,
    elderly*
    *voice.*

    * *
    *I could hear something being dragged across the floor.*

    * *
    *After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 80's stood*
    *before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a
    veil*
    *pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940s movie.*

    * *
    *By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if
    no*
    *one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with*
    *sheets.*

    * *
    *There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the*
    *counters. In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and*
    *glassware.*

    * *
    *"Would you carry my bag out to the car?" she said. I took the*
    *suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman.*

    * *
    *She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb. She kept*
    *thanking me for my kindness.*

    * *
    *"It's nothing", I told her. "I just try to treat my passengers the*
    *way I would want my mother treated".*

    * *
    *"Oh, you're such a good boy", she said.*

    * *
    *When we got in the cab, she gave me an address, then asked,*
    *"Could you drive through downtown?"*

    * *

    * *

    * *

    * *

    * *
    * "It's not the shortest way," I answered quickly.*
    * "Oh, I don't mind," she said. "I'm in no hurry. I'm on my way to a
    hospice".*

    * *
    *I looked in the rear-view mirror. Her eyes were glistening,
    continued,*
    *"The doctor says I don't have very long."*

    * *
    *I quietly reached over and shut off the meter. "What route would you*
    *like me to take?" I asked.*

    * *
    *For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the*
    *building where she had once worked as an elevator operator.*

    * *
    *We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had*
    *lived when they were newlyweds. She had me pull up in front of a
    furniture*
    *warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as
    a
    girl.*

    * *
    *Sometimes she'd ask me to slow in front of a particular building or*
    *corner and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing.*

    * *
    *As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly
    said,*
    *"I'm tired. Let's go now."*

    * *
    *We drove in silence to the address she had given me. It was a low*
    *building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that
    passed*
    *under a portico.*

    * *
    *Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up. They were*
    *solicitous and intent, watching her every move.They must have been
    expecting*
    *her.*

    * *
    *I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The
    woman*
    *was already seated in a wheelchair.*

    * *
    *"How much do I owe you?" she asked, reaching into her purse.*

    * *
    *"Nothing," I said.*

    * *
    *"You have to make a living," she answered.*

    * *
    *"There are other passengers," I responded.*

    * *
    *Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug. She held onto me*
    *tightly. "You gave an old woman a little moment of joy," she said.*
    *"Thank you."*

    * *
    *I squeezed her hand, then walked into the dim morning light.*

    * *
    *Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a*
    *life.*

    * *
    *I didn't pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly*
    *lost in thought. For the rest of that day, I could hardly talk.*

    * *
    *What if that woman had gotten an angry driver, or one who was*
    *impatient to end his shift?*

    * *
    *What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once, then
    driven
    away?*

    * *
    *On a quick review, I don't think that I have done anything more*
    *important in my life. We're conditioned to think that our lives*
    *revolve around great moments.*

    * *
    *But great moments often catch us unaware-beautifully wrapped in what*
    *others may consider a small one.*

    * *
    *PEOPLE MAY NOT REMEMBER EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID, OR WHAT YOU*
    *SAID,*

    * *
    *~BUT THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HOW YOU MADE THEM FEEL~*

    * *

    Weight

    Big muscles don't come from light loads.

    They come from carrying a lot of weight.

    Weight can build you up or bend you over.

    It depends on how you use it

    Handbags

    Have you ever noticed gals who sit their handbags on public toilet floors -
    then go directly to their dining tables and set it on the table? Happens
    a lot!

    It's not always the 'restaurant food' that causes stomach distress.
    Sometimes "what you don't know 'will' hurt you"!

    Read on...

    Mum got so upset when guests came in the door and plopped their handbags
    down on the counter where she was cooking or setting up food. She always
    said that handbags are really dirty, because of where they have been.

    Smart Mum!!!

    It's something just about every woman carries with them. While we may know
    what's inside our handbags, do you have any idea what's on the outside?
    Shauna Lake put handbags to the test - for bacteria - with surprising
    results. You may think twice about where you put your handbag.

    Women carry handbags everywhere; from the office to public toilets to the
    floor of the car. Most women won't be caught without their handbags, but
    did you ever stop to think about where your handbag goes during the day?

    "I drive a school bus, so my handbag has been on the floor of the bus a
    lot," says one woman. "On the floor of my car, and in toilets."

    "I put my handbag in grocery shopping carts, on the floor of the toilet
    while changing a nappy," says another woman "and of course in my home which
    should be clean."

    We decided to find out if handbags harbour a lot of bacteria. We learned
    how to test them at Nelson Laboratories in Salt Lake , and then we set out
    to test the average woman's handbag.

    Most women told us they didn't stop to think about what was on the bottom
    of their handbag. Most said at home they usually set their handbags on top
    of kitchen tables and counters where food is prepared.

    Most of the ladies we talked to told us they wouldn't be surprised if their
    handbags were at least a little bit dirty. It turns out handbags are so
    surprisingly dirty, even the microbiologist who tested them was shocked.

    Microbiologist Amy Karen of Nelson Labs says nearly all of the handbags
    tested were not only high in bacteria, but high in harmful kinds of
    bacteria. Pseudomonas can cause eye infections, staphylococcus aurous can
    cause serious skin infections, and salmonella and e-coli found on the
    handbags could make people very sick.

    In one sampling, four of five handbags tested positive for salmonella, and
    that's not the worst of it. "There is fecal contamination on the handbags,"
    says Amy . Leather or vinyl handbags tended to be cleaner than cloth
    handbags, and lifestyle seemed to play a role.

    People with kids tended to have dirtier handbags than those without, with
    one exception. The handbag of one single woman who frequented nightclubs
    had one of the worst contaminations of all.

    "Some type of feces, or possibly vomit" says Amy .

    So the moral of this story - your handbag won't kill you, but it does have
    the potential to make you very sick if you keep it on places where you eat.

    Use hooks to hang your handbag at home and in toilets, and don't put it on
    your desk, a restaurant table, or on your kitchen countertop.

    Experts say you should think of your handbag the same way you would a pair
    of shoes. "If you think about putting a pair of shoes onto your
    coununtertops, that's the same thing you're doing when you put your handbag
    on the countertops" - your handbag has gone where individuals before you
    have sneezed, coughed, s pat , urinated, emptied bowels, etc!

    Do you really want to bring that home with you? The microbiologists at
    Nelson also said cleaning a handbag will help.

    Wash cloth handbags and use leather cleaner to clean the bott om of leather
    handbags.

    Lower Blood Pressure in 3 Hours with Home-made Juice

    Drop Blood Pressure in 3 Hours, with 250 ML of This All-Natural Juice! Could This Be A Miracle Food?

    Shocking new research shows that the most commonly used drugs for lowering blood pressure actually raise it. That’s right: the drugs that most hypertension patients count on are actually putting them in harm’s way.

    And in an ironic twist of fate, another brand new study confirms that one simple, natural remedy can drastically lower your blood pressure in just three hours.

    Best Meds Elevate Blood Pressure
    Research shows that the most commonly prescribed drugs for hypertension are making the problem worse. The study – published recently in the American Journal of Hypertension – followed the progress of 945 patients over 17 years.
    The patients were given one of two antihypertensive drugs. One was a calcium channel blocker that lowers blood volume. The other was a beta blocker, or ACE inhibitor. These are often called “R” drugs, which lower levels of renin. Renin is an enzyme secreted by the kidneys and plays a key role in maintaining blood pressure.
    The study showed that the drugs spiked blood pressure. The highest spikes were found in patients with low renin levels who were taking the R drugs.
    Researchers at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University say doctors are too quick to use a one-drug-treats-all option. They suggest that they need to be careful when choosing treatments for their patients.
    “Every clinician knows that there’s a variation in response to antihypertensive treatment,” says study author Michael Alderman, MD. Dr. Alderman is the former president of the American Society of Hypertension. “Some patients will have an elevation in blood pressure.”
    Until now, this has been blamed on patients not taking their drugs. Other times doctors put it down to random events.
    “But this data shows that it’s not a random event,” he says. “It’s due to a mismatch between the patients’ renin status and the drug.”

    Root Remedy Offers Hope
    The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say one in three Americans over the age of 20 have hypertension. And over 40 million people wind up in hospital each year with it.
    According to the American Heart Association, it increases the risk for:
    · Heart attack
    · Angina
    · Stroke
    · Kidney failure
    · Peripheral artery disease
    And while doctors are prescribing drugs that make the problem worse, one simple root can make it better. A brand new UK study – published in the American Heart

    Association journal Hypertension – says beetroot juice significantly lowers high blood pressure.

    The study was conducted by the famous Queen Mary’s William Harvey Research Institute and headed up by Professor Amrita Ahluwalia. It’s the same institute that discovered that aspirin prevents heart attacks and strokes!
    Researchers gave beetroot juice to healthy volunteers. They compared their blood pressure responses and the biochemical changes in their circulation.
    And what they found was very good news indeed for people with hypertension. Not only does beetroot juice lower blood pressure… it does it quickly.
    Professor Ahluwalia found that patients lowered their blood pressure within three hours of drinking their daily dose! And the effects last for 24 hours.
    And the best thing is that the root works best for those who need it most.
    Researchers found that “the higher the blood pressure, the greater the decrease.”
    That’s good news for a lot of people. Just like the US, one in three adults in the UK suffer from hypertension. And the Blood Pressure Association says over 30 percent of sufferers don’t even know they have it. That’s too bad: it results in over 350 “preventable” strokes or heart attacks every day.

    Researchers also tested a second group of patients with daily nitrate tablets. They too were able to lower their blood pressure. It’s possible that the high nitrate content in beetroot is one of the reasons why it’s so effective in lowering blood pressure. And why the research group believe it’s about to become the “next super food.”

    “Beeting” Out the Competition
    Beetroot is rich in antioxidants. It contains iron, boron, and folic acid. It also contains betanene, which is why it has such a violent color. Betanene is a super antioxidant: it’s more potent than polyphenols. Polyphenols are believed to be reason that diets rich in leafy vegetables lower blood pressure.
    Research member Professor Ben Benjamin says that beetroot absorbs and stores super high levels of nitrate. These are found in soil and our bodies use them in its battle against blood pressure.
    “When nitrate is present in saliva, bacteria on the tongue converts it into nitrite,” he says. “When the nitrite is swallowed, it’s converted into nitric oxide.”
    And that is a chemical produced by our blood vessels to help them relax and lower blood pressure. “Increasing the levels of nitrate with beetroot juice increases this effect,” he says.
    The study also found beetroot juice works like aspirin. It prevents blood clots and protects the lining of blood vessels.

    True Stories of Success
    “Currently, treatment for high blood pressure involves a cocktail of aspirin, statins, beta blockers, and angiotensin converting enzyme [ACE] inhibitors,” says Professor Benjamin. “People don’t like taking all the tablets. They don’t feel well and the treatment is lifelong.”
    But he says beetroot is a healthy and safe alternative to all that.
    And people are already putting it to the test. Sixty-year-old David Kelsall, from Stoke-on-Trent, England, was amazed by the results. “I discovered my blood pressure was high when my doctor was testing for something else,” he says. “It was not life-threatening but I was anxious to do something about it.”
    He was considering drugs when he read the reports about beetroot juice.
    “I drank three bottles of it a week,” he says. “Less than four weeks [later], my blood pressure had already leveled out. Now, a few months later, it is under control and normal. I am still drinking the juice, and I’m going to continue doing so. It may not help everyone, but it’s helped me.”

    Getting Beetroot into Your Diet
    Beetroot has a medium glycemic index score of 64… but this doesn’t need to be a problem. That’s because you only need to have a very small amount of beetroot juice to lower your blood pressure.

    “We found that only a small amount of juice is needed – just 250ml – to have this effect,” says Professor Ahluwalia.
    Dr. Al Sears says beetroot is better at beating blood pressure problems than any drug. Here is one simple recipe that he suggests for getting it into your diet.

    To make this recipe simply take:
    · two raw organic carrots;
    · three organic celery sticks;
    · one-half of an organic cucumber;
    · one organic beetroot (also known simply as a beet).
    Chop each of the vegetables up.
    Drop ‘em in your juicer.
    Blend and drink.

    A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell.

    He painted a sign advertising the pups and set about nailing it
    to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last
    nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls.

    He looked down into the eyes of a little boy.

    "Mister," he said, "I want to buy one of your puppies."

    "Well," said the farmer, as he rubbed the sweat off the back of
    his neck, "these puppies come from fine parents and cost a good
    deal of money."

    The boy dropped his head for a moment. Then reaching deep into
    his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change and held
    it up to the farmer. "I've got thirty-nine cents. Is that
    enough to take a look?"

    "Sure," said the farmer. And with that he let out a whistle,
    "Here, Dolly!" he called.

    Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by
    four little balls of fur. The little boy pressed his face
    against the chain link fence.

    His eyes danced with delight.

    As the dogs made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed
    something else stirring inside the doghouse.

    Slowly another little ball appeared; this one noticeably
    smaller.

    Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner the
    little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to
    catch up.

    "I want that one," the little boy said, pointing to the runt.

    The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said,
    "Son, you don't want that puppy.
    He will never be able to run and play with you like these other
    dogs would."

    With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached
    down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers.

    In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of
    his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe.

    Looking back up at the farmer, he said,

    "You see sir, I don't run too well myself,
    and he will need someone who understands."

    Mom Did You See It?

    Barbara was driving her six-year-old son, Benjamin, to his piano
    lesson. They were late, and Barbara was beginning to think she
    should have cancelled it. There was always so much to do, and
    Barbara, a night-duty nurse at the local hospital, had recently
    worked extra shifts. She was tired. The sleet storm and icy
    roads added to her tension. Maybe she should turn the car around.

    "Mom!" Ben cried, "Look!"

    Just ahead a car had lost control on a patch of ice.
    As Barbara tapped the brakes, the other car spun wildly,
    rolled over, then crashed sideways into a telephone pole.

    Barbara pulled over, skidded to a stop and threw open her door.
    Thank goodness she was a nurse, she might be able to help these
    unfortunate passengers.

    Then she paused. What about Ben? She couldn't take him with
    her; little boys shouldn't see scenes like the one she anticipated.

    But was it safe to leave him alone? What if their car was hit
    from behind? For a brief moment Barbara considered going on her
    way. Someone else was sure to come along. No!
    "Ben, honey, promise me you'll stay in the car!"

    "I will, Mommy," he said as she ran, slipping and sliding,
    toward the crash site.

    It was worse than she'd feared. Two girls of high school age
    were in the car. One, the blonde on the passenger side, was
    dead, killed on impact. The driver, however was still breathing.

    She was unconscious and pinned in the wreckage.
    Barbara quickly applied pressure to the wound in the teenager's
    head while her practiced eye catalogued the other injuries.
    A broken leg, maybe two, along with probable internal bleeding.
    But if help came soon, the girl would live.

    A trucker had pulled up and was calling for help on his cellular
    phone. Soon Barbara heard the ambulance sirens. A few moments
    later she surrendered her lonely post to rescue workers.

    "Good job," one said as he examined the driver's wounds,
    "You probably saved her life, ma'am." Perhaps. But as Barbara
    walked back to her car a feeling of sadness overwhelmed her,
    especially for the family of the girl who had died.

    Their lives would never be the same. Oh God, why do such things
    have to happen? Slowly Barbara opened her car door.

    What should she tell Benjamin?
    He was staring at the crash site, his blue eyes huge.

    "Mom," he whispered, "did you see it?"

    "See what, Honey?" she asked.

    "The angel, Mom! He came down from the sky while you were
    running to the car. And he opened the door, and he took that
    girl out."

    Barbara's eyes filled with tears. "Which door, Ben?"

    "The passenger side. He took the girl's hand, and they floated
    up to heaven together."

    "What about the driver?"

    Ben shrugged. "I didn't see anyone else."

    Later Barbara was able to meet the families of the victims.
    They expressed their gratitude for the help she had provided.
    Barbara was able to give them something more — Ben's vision.

    There was no way he could have known by ordinary means who was
    in the car or what had happened to either of the passengers.
    Nor could the passenger door have been opened. Barbara had seen
    it's tangle of immovable steel herself. Yet Ben's account
    brought consolation to a grieving family. Their daughter was
    safe in heaven, and they would see her again.

    Durian is a little known fruit from Asia that has an extremely pungent smell and an amazingly sweet taste. The smell of the durian fruit is so bad that many hotels in the areas where durian grows will not allow their guests to have the fruit in their rooms. But those who brave the smell are quickly won over by its beautiful taste and amazing health benefits.

    Unlike most fruits the durian is left to fall from the tree as this is a sign that it is ripe to eat. People in the local villages of South East Asia, where the durian is most common, call it "The King of Fruits," and they will clear the floor under the trees near to harvest time and then camp near them for up to two months just to make sure they get the fruit at its peak. This is a truly exceptional and healing fruit.

    Health Benefits of Durian.

    Traditionally the durian fruit was seen as a powerful aphrodisiac, while women would eat the ashes from burnt durian skins to help them recover after child birth. But concoctions made from the leaves of the durian tree were also used to help reduce swelling and cure skin disease. More recently nutritionists have claimed that the durian fruit can help lower cholesterol and cleanse the blood as well as cure jaundice and alleviate fevers.

    Experts even say that you can rid yourself of yeast infections such as thrush through eating the durian fruit. This is because of the durian's high iron content that helps the white blood cells in our body make specific chemicals that kill off the infection.

    The durian is also packed with amino acids as well as Vitamins B, C and E and many people are even comparing the sweet custard like centre of the durian fruit to the goji berry for its high levels of anti oxidants. These anti oxidants help slow down the destruction of cells from free radicals such as pollution and smoking; in doing so, they decrease the effects of aging on the skin giving you a younger more refreshed look.

    Among the amino acids found inside the durian is tryptophan. Tryptophan is essential for making and maintaining serotonin levels in the body. Serotonin is the hormone in the body that regulates our happiness. People with low serotonin levels tend to have short tempers, are often moody and suffer from depression. This means that not only will eating the durian fruit help keep your body running smoothly but it will also increase your general happiness and wellbeing.

    Written by a doctor who suffers from cancer and he uses alternative
    rather than conventional medicine that involves chemo etc.

    Good to share with family and friends.

    Subject: Cancer treatment is about making money!! ... provoking thoughts?

    I posted this article, which may have some provoking thoughts:

    The below is absolutely 100% true and as a doctor I have been telling
    people this for 15 years now. No one wants to listen. Folks need to
    wake up. Cancer treatment is about making money. It is a 120 billion
    dollar a year industry in the United States alone and estimated to be
    a 600 billion dollar a year industry worldwide.

    A successful cancer case according to the American Cancer Society and
    the American College of Oncology and Hematology means that the person
    survives for 5 years. Both the American Cancer Society and the
    American College of Oncology and Hematology admit that a person is
    likely to survive cancer for 7 to 10 years even if they do absolutely
    NOTHING. Of course, only the doctors get those magazines - not you,
    the cancer patient.

    Alternative medicine's track record of curing cancer is 10 times
    higher than that of conventional medicine. Note that I say CURE.

    Remember another thing. A TUMOR is just a symptom. It is not the cause
    of cancer.

    Science is cause and effect. Remove the cause and the effect disappears.

    I am in my third battle with cancer right now. I have not done any
    chemotherapy or radiation or surgery for any of my bouts with cancer.
    I survived leukemia, I survived Non Hodgkins Lymphoma and now I have
    Glioblastoma which is supposedly an incurable form of brain cancer. I
    was given two months to live 5 months ago.

    I have been using Chinese herbs, high doses of vitamin C, acupuncture,
    chiropractic, homeopathy and nutritional changes. Yes, at first it got
    worse. It had metastasized to my lymph nodes, my lungs and my bones.
    As of this week, I am happy to say that there is no evidence now of
    any cancer in my lymph system or my bones. I had 6 tumors in my lungs,
    now there are only two. The tumors in my brain have shrunken
    tremendously. I never did any of their chemo, radiation or surgery.

    Here is a very interesting statistic that you can only have access to
    by being a doctor. Every year more than 1,000 doctors oncologists
    (cancer doctors) are diagnosed with cancer. Less than 10% of them
    choose to do the treatment that they have been giving to their
    patients. Sort of like the fact that less than 25% of all
    pediatricians vaccinate their own children because of the fact that
    the risk of sudden death or serious side effects from the vaccination
    is higher than the risk of catching the disease one is being
    vaccinated for. This is not bullshit people - it is truth.

    Medicine is about money, not about your health and the system traps
    people, especially the elderly, disabled and poor into a deadly
    treatment regime that puts them in an early grave. Meanwhile, all the
    jet set billionaires are flying off to Europe and paying big bucks for
    alternative treatments and getting cured.

    Does alternative medicine work all the time? No. Of course not.
    Nothing works all the time. But there is a reason for that. You don't
    die until it's your time to die. Nothing can make you live longer than
    that time.

    However quality of life comes into play. Those cancer patients who use
    alternative therapiesfor their cancer, yet still die from the illness,
    suffer a much higher quality of life. They die able to spend time with
    their families and even recognize their family members. They don't
    become emaciated like those who do chemotherapy or radiation do and
    rarely is a person who goes under the treatment of chemotherapy able
    to recognize anyone for the last few days of their lives. Their bodies
    become ravaged to the point that you can't even recognize them either.
    They suffer at a much much higher rate and they have one let down
    after another as doctors tell them, ahhh - it's looking good, only to
    tell them on the next visit it's looking worse, you need more chemo
    and radiation.

    What is criminal about this is that YOUR DOCTORS KNOW THIS SHIT.

    I took an oath as a physician. I have always followed it. That has
    certainly not made me successful financially as a doctor because I
    have consistently refused to go along with conventional medicine's
    bullshit.

    Read the below carefully. It may indeed make a difference in your life.

    Rick Cantrell, PhD, MD, PsyD

    AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY ('TRY', BEING THE KEY WORD) TO ELIMINATE CANCER,
    JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY .

    Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins :

    1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer
    cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have
    multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tellcancer patients
    that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after
    treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the
    cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable
    size.

    2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a
    person's lifetime.

    3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer
    cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and
    forming tumors.

    4. When a person has cancer itindicates the person has
    nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic,
    but also to environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

    5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing
    diet to eat more adequately and healthy, 4-5 times/day
    and by including supplements will strengthen the immune
    system.

    6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing
    cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells
    in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc, and can
    cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

    7.. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars
    and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

    8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often
    reduce tumor size. Howeverprolonged use of
    chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor
    destruction.

    9. When the body has too much toxic burden from
    chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either
    compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb
    to various kinds of infections and complications.

    10. Chemotherapy and radiation cancause cancer cells to
    mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy.
    Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other
    sites.

    11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer
    cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

    *CANCER CELLS FEED ON:-

    a. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are
    made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural
    substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses , but only in
    very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make
    it white in color Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea
    salt.

    B. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the
    gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting
    off milk and substituting withunsweetened soy milk cancer
    cells are being starved.

    c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based
    diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little other
    meat, like chicken. Meat also contains livestock
    antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all
    harmful, especially to people with cancer.

    d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole
    grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into
    an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked
    food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live
    enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to
    cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance
    growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building
    healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most
    vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw
    vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at
    temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C)..

    e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high
    caffeine Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer
    fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or
    filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap
    water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

    12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of
    digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the
    intestines becomes putrefied and leads to more toxic
    buildup.

    13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By
    refraining from or eating less meat it frees more
    enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and
    allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

    14. Some supplements build up the immune system
    (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals,
    EFAs etc.) to enable the bodies own killer cells to destroy
    cancer cells.. Other supplements like vitamin E are known
    to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's
    normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or
    unneeded cells.

    15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit.
    A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior
    be a survivor. Anger, un-forgiveness and bitterness put
    the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to
    have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy
    life.

    16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated
    environment. Exercising daily, anddeep breathing help to
    get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen
    therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer
    cells.

    1. No plastic containers in micro.

    2. No water bottles in freezer.

    3. No plastic wrap in microwave..

    Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its
    newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army
    Medical Center as well. Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially
    breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our
    bodies. Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this
    releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Dr Edward Fujimoto,
    Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital , was on a TV program to
    explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they
    are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the
    microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods
    that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and
    plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells
    of the body. Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware,
    Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same
    results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners,
    instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container
    and heated in something else. Paper isn't bad but you don't know what
    is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware,
    etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants
    moved away from the foam containers to paper The dioxin problem is one
    of the reasons.

    Please share this with your whole email list ....

    Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is
    just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the
    microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins
    to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food.
    Cover food with a paper towel instead.

    Different Kinds of Diamonds

    Many years ago, when my children were quite small, I was brought
    to the realization that we don't always recognize our real
    riches.

    One morning, as my neighbor was visiting me with her children
    and my children were running around doing what kids do, there
    was a handy man putting a new floor in my kitchen.

    He was very friendly and was talking to my friend and I while he
    was banging away at the floor. He happened to notice the
    diamond ring on my friend's hand and complimented her on it.
    It was really quite beautiful.

    At that point, I glanced down at my hand and I felt kind of bad
    because I only had a wedding ring and no engagement ring. I
    just kind of blurted out to the gentlemen that I didn't own a
    diamond.

    He looked at me and said, "Oh, yes you do. I see your three
    children playing right now. Believe me when I tell you that
    those are your diamonds."

    Well, I learned something that day.

    There are things that we never want to let go of, people and experiences to which we want to keep holding tight, but sometimes we have to let go before we can see if we have anything worth holding on to. Letting go gives us a new
    perspective. It allows us to see the beginning of a new and better life.

    May you always be willing to let go of that which no longer serves so you can get a better grasp on those things that do.

    See It Through

    When you're up against a trouble,
    Meet it squarely, face to face;
    Lift your chin and set your shoulders,
    Plant your feet and take a brace.

    When it's vain to try to dodge it,
    Do the best that you can do;
    You may fail, but you may conquer,
    See it through!

    Black may be the clouds about you
    And your future may seem grim,
    But don't let your nerve desert you;
    Keep yourself in fighting trim.

    If the worst is bound to happen,
    Spite of all that you can do,
    Running from it will not save you,
    See it through!

    Even hope may seem but futile,
    When with troubles you're beset,
    But remember you are facing
    Just what other men have met.

    You may fail, but fall still fighting;
    Don't give up, whate'er you do;
    Eyes front, head high to the finish.

    See it through!
