Mysterious mummy images in Nantou fields

Through a Google satellite map, the Waitaping vegetable plantation in central Taiwan's Nantou county resembles a flying mummy with wings. Onlookers might make the comparison to the Nazca Lines in Peru. Astronomy fans in Hong Kong even made a special trip to Taiwan to have a closer look at the lines, according to ETtoday.
Nazca Lines are a series of ancient geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert in southern Peru. The lines form images of a monkey, humming bird and spider in the desert. Archaeologists had spent years trying to solve the mystery, yet the lines remain an enigma.
Some suspect they were made by the aliens.
Checking the satellite image of Waitaping with Google maps, there are patterns with a striking resemblance of a mummy, its limbs spreading apart and its head being wrapped up by bandages, revealing only eyes.
Reporters quickly dispelled the growing superstitions after a visit, finding that the image was caused by fields of watermelons, radishes and eggplants. When viewed from an aerial image, the distortion of the light causes the image to take on a supernatural aspect.
Waitaiping is located at an altitude of about 600 meters and is a major vegetable growing region in Puli. Farmers plant specialized crops such as ginger, radishes and eggplants there in rotations, and recently began planting tea.
