LHL is stressed. LHL cant handle PM's job.

Is it better for him to quit? Would quitting be disastrous for his ego!

So what is the best way out for LHL without making him look like a failure?

LHL is a poor leader. He would have been better suited becoming a mathematician at Oxbridge or even at NUS, rather than becoming PM.

The only way for the PAP is to overhaul their policies, acknowledge their errors, and slowly salvage the situation. But their cronyistic interests and incorrect morals/values prevents them from doing so. Too much special interests, too much of time spent being drunk in their power and self-importance, and too little sense of civic duty. Can such an organization change?

totally agree. LHL is ill at ease in public eye. look at his body language, look at his gait! he would be happier as an academic professor. a lesson here for all parents is never force your child to live your dream.

Agree with you. But LHL is such a poor leader that he cant see beyond his own nose and keeps thinking that he is right.

To step down is a big blow to his ego.

If you have listened to how LKY talked over the years and the way LWL writes in the Sunday times, it's a clue how LHL will react.
They don't have a clue what they are like, other than what their sycophants tell them.
He will simply retire gracefully, and tell everyone how much he enjoyed "serving the people".
The sycophants will tell him "no, no, it was our honour to serve you and a priviledge to have you as pm" and he will happily believe them.
Happy ending.

He does take credit for his unique leadership. He will never raise his head above the parapet. He waits for the dust, the noise and the debris to settle then he comes out with measured words of wisdom. Remember the calls from everyone when there was radio silence during the Mas Selamat epsiode. And he is an Army General.

Reminds me of the Australian Army chief who abandoned his men and post in Simgapore and fled by boat to OZ claiming that he can be more effective from OZ. He was the only army chief that was not interned in Changi by the Japanese.

His father would in the first place would not have allowed Mr Mas Selamet to escape and if he did everyone would have have to pay the price.

They will do what Tony Tan and the clan have been doing as of late. Their primary residence will be UK, US or Canada. They will fly in during winter months. They want to spend their time with their grandkids who are now based overseas. They will of course give thr impression that they are in Singapore but are simple at heart and not intention to steal the limelight.

The heir is now dating a MIT PRC chick who on the Beijing For holidays paid her respect to old man and got his official blessing.

AMP will be preparing for their 10 yearly conference in 2021 having partnered PAP while the PAP leadership's families jext generation will be building a clossal empire with 2 nexus

In the meantime we will be arguing about the price of coffee at kpt near our house.

LHL's leadership doctrine is "Lead In Absentia". When SG needs leadership, LHL was absent...When Singaporeans wanted badly to hear from their leader, LHL was eerily silent.

We deserve a better PM
