About 40 people living near the Lower Peirce Reservoir met their Member of Parliament Inderjit Singh on Saturday to discuss how to curb the wild boar population in their neighbourhood.And a majority at the closed-door session - about 95 per cent - voted in favour of culling the animals.

Mr Singh, an MP for Ang Mo Kio GRC, said he arranged the dialogue after hearing from many residents who had spotted the boars in their neighbourhood.

His constituents have also become more concerned after one of the animals attacked two people in Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park last Friday.

A five-year-old boy was flung into the air when the boar charged at him, and a Cisco officer was also struck down by the same animal.

Facts:

1. Wild boars are dangerous animals.
2. Wild boars have attacked 2 people recently
3. Wild boars are not pets of residents
4. Wildlife and bio-diversity matters are under the ward of AVA/NParks

Why does a busy MP like Indajit Singh need to waste his time asking residents for permission to solve this problem?

cannot be! he is a busy entrepreneur!

usually all it takes is one phone call the those wild boars will be history... now he needs to hold a closed door dialogue session? Imagine how much money he could have made with his time?

They can sell the wild boar to chinese restaurants,,many people like me would love to have wild boar meat,,and PAP can make a killing tooo,,,selling it will cover the cost of culling tooo,,got money making opportunity,,PAP sure grab wan

Going by recent logic;
1. The NEA are 100% not at fault, it is the nature of the wild boar to roam.
2. Wild boar attack happens only once in 50 years, no need to worry.
3. If you are attack by the wild boar, the medical fees is only at a subsizied rate of $8.
4. Maybe we should raise the GST in order to help those who live within that area.
5. Gosh, oh gosh, we should try to integrate with the invading wild boars.
6. The ICA has already made effort to make it less possible for the wild boars to cross the road.
7. Anyone who spread untrue and offensive rumours about wild boars are liable to be charged, and they are seeking opinions on regulating the use on spread of information on wild boars on the internet.

The wild boar took a long walk from the perimeter road of Old Upper Thomson, along Sembawang Hills Estate, all the way to the junction to Upper Thomson Road, used the pedestrian crossing to Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 & wander into Bishan Park.

That is why the must talk behind closed doors, these are special swines!, they are discussing, wether they should roast them, stewed them, pan fried or BBQ??
