I had the similar feeling like you. The space and greenery that are more natural give that sudden relief and stress-free feeiling.
So sad. Everytime when I drive on the bridge towards MY customs (Tuas side), my heart feel so light and 'cheng' once start seeing those green mangroves stretching few kms along the blue straits and all those stress reduced immediately.
Returning to SG, stress starts to pile up again. Haha!

slow n steady friends. a house takes time to be built.
we are seeing ph slowing emerging from the horizon.
when it's ready we shall go in to savour its flavour.
you to your cosy corner, me to mine.
and when the night lights are lit, we shall have it again.
you see your tenants viewing the boats
i see my wife cooking my favourite oats
did someone asks if i would be able to sell the house?
who's selling? not me. you?

When my fren bought HH houses I also hammered him for his stupidity when we were taking trains together to work in Singapore.

Now he is driving a S$300k car paid with cash and I haven't got money to buy a $200k car

Really regretted hammering him.

Even if the commercial scene remain dead, I have no worries for luxurious places like PH. Those residents don't depend on Johor Economy but Singapore and world economy. In the long run, I give 10-15 years, its gota be a wonderful place.. Not just hello kitty or little red cube

Wow.. The place seems like got a lot of potential.. But the pricing will be expensive and I don't really see it coming down anytime soon. Also it's encouraging to see more established developers moving into the area. Like E&O and SunWay.

So at least they will likely be more committed to that area for the next 10 years or so..

I would its a smart move considering that the potential for Johor to be attractive is quite high.. Probably higher then in KL especially with the proximity to Singapore.
The commercial scene in Johor is really just pathetic.. I really think it's prime for a revamp.. South key which is coming up is a prime fit to profit from this unfulfilled demand for higher quality services.

It takes foresight and guts to invest in new projects and location. Good example is Battersea UK.

First phase was in June 2013, price: GBP 1100 psf.
Second phase to be launched in May 2014: GBP 2500 psf.

Stupidity or plain luck, no one knows until it is Vped.

One can watch Singapore's TV channels or listen to the radio stations while you are in iskandar. It gives you a relax feeling and yet you are like in Singapore. Everything is so affordable from petrol, car, food, etc.
Businessmen like us always like to use local ( spore lines ) because the moment your customers see overseas lines keep calling them, they don't feel comfortable

Actually from what I gather, this place is riding on potential. If you remember Sentosa of days long gone, who in the right mind would have invested there. But with infrastructure and a new airport express, Canary Wharf could be the next big thing. I dun have a crystal ball so I dun know. But what I do know is that I do not have balls big enough to take the risk.

U know locals don't like to stay in canary wharf?

Slightly OOT: I thought Royal Wharf by Oxley/Ballymore is a better buy today. GBP 600psf for 1bedders.

Royal Wharf is before the Thames barrier. So in terms of rising flood, it is slightly risky. Ballymore have another inner land project called London City Island. That is slightly better. Then you have Canary Wharf. Boring place but it is the new financial center with HSBC, Morgan Stanley and all the big boys there as their headquarters. Nearby is Greenwich. You really need to know London neighbourhood before you plonk. Ground visit is a must, if you ask me.

I am not referring to mobile broadband la.. referring more to calls made to me via starhub mobile. Ya the line is ok if u are standing near the coast at PH. Its supposed to be the narrowest straits between the whole of Malaysia and Singapore anyway

Its the Genting casino magic effect. Government poured a lot of money into Sentosa and allowed a casino to operate there to draw the crowd. But nowadays Sentosa has a lot of foreign workers hanging around looking at girls in bikini
