Group

There are various types of Group:

Group None

It is seen as a top level container that contains a collection of project items. It’s primary function is to manage their timeline schedules. Where it synchronize their timeline as a group.

Typically if you want to display videos and windows of text and graphic schedule under a group, you are likely to assign the same area of screen to them. However, it is not a requirement. There are times that you may setup overlapping schedules and utilize different area of the screens for display under the same group.

Group Tab

When you set a type to a group, example “Tab”, it changes some of it’s characteristic. It now occupies an area of the screen and provides an interactive control panel that manages all items under it. It also synchronize all their schedules except “Splash”.

Group Search

A Search Group has a complex relationship with it's client. First and foremost all it's client needs to have it's project information filled, otherwise it will be ignored. See below for more information

Folder

Not applicable to Search Group. It allows you to put various individual project under a folder instead of creating under the same project.

Group Tab

A group Tab has a header and a content body. Both contains the housing for project items ( except Splash ) icon or a image of it’s content. It houses either in the header or content body. Should you set the header height to a value less then 10, the header will not be displayed.

The group Tab synchronize and schedule each project item according to the order you build, regardless whether it houses the icon in the header or content body. You may also tell it not to participates in the schedule.

In this example, the group schedule itself for 2 minute continously. Since one of them is not configured to participates in the schedule, although the total interval is 3 minute minus Splash. Splash in group Tab, functions independently and therefore you must specifically align it's time to display.

Search Group

Before you can setup a Search Group, you must have a collection of noticeboard projects that are inter-related to each other by filling up it's Project Information for each of those ntb file.

For example, in a shopping complex where you would like to put up notice boards and have access to all the shops, you would setup at least a project file for each of these shops, displaying their product range. Each of these shops has a main project file setup as "owner" in it's project information, it can then create for itself a group of subscribers ( branches, clients etc... ) to form a unit. With the collection, you can create a Search group to fetch these shops and display on the notice boards.

A Group Search controls and defines a complex set of relationship among it's items. It must include one or more of the following:

1. A folder name where all your contents ( collection) resides for searching to take place.
2. A search result area.
3. One or more location window.
4. One or more category window.
5. One or more display window.

Search Result Button Areas

The group rectangle is the area to hold these buttons. These buttons are provided by the participating project file (within it's project information).

Location Window

You can add a Window under a Search Group to perform the searches of a particular address or group of addresses within your collection. Searches can be done through a series of search buttons or through a search diagram that you place on the canvas.

Category Window

Similarly, you can add a Window to perform the searches by categories.

To learn more about location and category searches setup see the Street Example.

Display Window

A Search Group has a default primary window for displaying the resulting search content. It can also include a display ntb file that describes how you are going to divide and deploy your screen to hold a complex set of displays.

To learn more about streamlinning your display see the Village Example.

Scheduling and Display Time

A Search Group automatically schedule and display your search content onto the display window. Although a duration is and should be defined in every ntb project file, only the main project duration is considered and use as the maximun time allowed to show it's content. All it's subscribers, if they are configured to show in a secondary display window will have to adhere, otherewise it may be cut off abruptly when the main project duration expired.

Touches

All touches to a button will be displayed in the primary window.

Out of Bound Area

A Search Group has a default Search Result area for display the buttons, as mentioned in the above, you can also added some Windows for Location or Categories Searches, all these are out of bounds to your subscribers. Any subscriber that has their link Display window extending into these area will be automatically remove. And it also includes all Windows that are define under the same Group Cluster.

With the support of a display content type, any display that is designated for exclusive use by the Host are dim to be out of bound.

In the Street Example, together with the Search Result, the Category, Map and Location Window would be dim out of bound to subscribers display areas.
