Bhutan Khaw happy - only 1 succeed in 4 or 5 every day in suicide attempts
EVERY day, four or five people in Singapore attempt suicide. At least one succeeds.
Doctors and medical social workers say those trying to kill themselves also appear to be getting younger.
The problem used to affect mainly the elderly, but in recent years it has spread to those in their 30s and 40s, said Ms Esther Lim, head of medical social services at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH).

"When we face problems, we acknowledge them publicly, and deal with them. We don't pretend there's no problem, no comments, studying the matter, thinking about it, will clarify one day. We settle now! You lie low hoping the public will forget the issue, and the issue will go away, the public will forget you, and might as well go away." - PM Lee
