Another true-blue Singaporean legend....SALUTE !!!
Some people brush off Low Thia Khiang as an "uncle" without elite qualifications and some (especially younger voters) laugh at his English. But if you are able to look beyond enunciation and accent, you will realise that the words he utters are sharp and politically astute.
Prior to GE2011, he withstood years of overwhelming onslaught in Parliament, against 80+ PAP MPs. Sometimes, the attacks were ugly, such as the time when an opponent made fun of his hearing problem.
In spite of a political system that is heavily and unfairly stacked against him, he plays a dignified game in Parliament and in GE campaigns. On many occasions in Parliament, in his halting but carefully worded English, he raised inconvenient but salient questions on issues such as the Mas Selamat escape and the high Ministerial salary. In 2011, he did the unthinkable and took down a GRC.
Whatever your political inclination, this man deserves respect.

Ron Goh he can or cannot speak english well is alright, at least he has already spoken. those who said he "rally talk......rarely talk", please look up in the YouTube and listen to what he and his team have voiced out in the parliament. Some which the local media did not broadcast at all. There's 80++ white in parliament and there's only 8 of them. Before 2011 it was even worse as there's only two - Mr. Chiam and Mr.Low. Those who comment that oppositions rarely talk........do you have the balls to speak up like them? Can you survive alone in a parliament when you are the one and only opposition mp? I don't know about you but we all know that Mr.Chiam and Mr.Low have proven to us they can do it, and they really did it for more than 20 years!

Victor Kwa The local media will never play any constructive things he say in Parliament. The only Parliament stuff media will play that involves him are things that could potentially create a negative image on him. Only the bad, never the good.
Personally I could care less if Mr Low doesn't speak English as fluently as others. In fact, I respect him for the fact that on many occasions he chose to speak using a weaker language when he could simply use his stronger one (Mandarin)

Tan Shu An Truely agree. Now youngsters cant even understand simple chinese, dont say speak. I admire this man since young. My grandma passed away in 1999. I see the physical him as the MP came to pay respect. Not just the flower sent over.
